I have looked all over the forum for the size of the speakers with no luck j&m shows no size only the 2 Ohm rating and watt rating.
as well tried to find the removal instructions and had no luck can someone post a link or do a writeup on it.
Thanks ahead of time.

I am trying to find us some good priced 2-3 way poly carb speakers that will fit as well as a amp that will fit in the trunk/cd changer hole.
so far I have found 1 marine grade 4 channel amp that will fit it has to be smaller then 9x8x3 that will allow a little room fitment in the hole.
or 2 small 2 channel amps on a mounting plate in the hole.
look for marine grade amps and speakers guys we can do better then the J&M I know it!
have a great holiday I am off to ride.

ok I took it all apart in less then 30 minutes looks like same front and rear speakers.
Man there some cheap a** speakers I bet the magnet isn't even 1 oz.
talk about cutting cost theres one spot Victory cut corners.

the hole spacing is 5 1/2 inch and the speaker seams to be 4 to 4 1/2 inch in size.
there not any quality at all and there not a good poly either.
I will be looking to see what I can find and post it up for everyone.
have a great day.

Not sure if you used the search function...but it brought up all sorts of info on speakers including the Ness Speaker/Amp combo. Also try thevmc.com - there's a thread there about an aftermarket system .

I sure would be interested in a better system. One that is priced reasonably....I am a cheapskate, after all...-----Metalguy

Something I stumbled across while looking for marine speakers........ The size is right. Only question remaining, is the power enough?

Has anybody done a comparison on the speakers yet or have heard any of the two?

I upgraded my speakers with these available from J&M Corp and they are really good. They are about 20% louder and have no distortion when cranked all the way up. I can hear them great at 100 mph even with a strong 30 mphTexas wind blowing. For the money I don’t think you can beat them.

Ditto on the J&M Speaker Upgrade.  Have them on my Vision and they do a better job than the stock speakers.

I agree on the J&M's improving performance considerably. Installing the taller windshield improved the sound even more.

+1 J&M are your best choice available today.
just put the trunk back on for SE meet in Helen so I popped in the J&M rear speakers..
easy swap and good clear sound for the price. I did notice that the fronts seem to be louder than rears and have the fade towards the rears to get "surround sound" one up..
two up fade goes to dead center....

Good luck getting great sound. Mine are pretty good now, but it took alot to do it. The problem is not the speakers and lack of power as much as the housings for the speakers. My bike has a custom system in it and everything has been tried. It is pretty rockin' now, but still lacks decent bass. I have an Audiosystems Twister amp in the cd changer hole. 4 Focal 5.25" replaced the stock speakers. There is custom box work in the existing speaker holes, dynomat, hushmat, etc...They tried linking the speakers, custom boxes, removing this, adding that...I have about $900 into the system, and they did a ton of work for free just trying to get great sound out of it for advertising purposes..No go...At this point it is better than a stock HK HD Ultra system, and about equal to a Hogtunes system in an Ultra. The Ultra Hogtunes system has better mid and bass than mine, but my system is loud and clear well beyond the Ultra...That is to say, you can hear my stereo over your own if you ride near me :P My system is loud enough with the bike off, you don't want to sit on it...

I was really hoping to have a system that sounded like my buddies Road King. He has a fairing that holds 4 6.5" speakers. He has no amp, but the head is powerful enough to run the 4 6.5s extremely well for a bike. His sound has it all, loud, clear, and mid/bass...I guess I may have been over hoping with the limit of 5.25" speakers with an aweful head unit and lack of decent speaker ports...I am much happier than stock though, MUCH happier. Still don't have fm reception for the most part. Still looking for an external antennae that looks ok...

how about getting a couple of spare saddle bag covers and mount some mtx 8inch road thunder speakers.
this should give some real punch to your system. also a subwoofer in one bag might do the trick. The last
issue of vision rider with tom arnald on the front had a great custom system with a removable sub in one of
the bags.

I thank all of you for your information it seems we have 5 1/4 speakers stock.
They are cheap as can be the j&m is a little better.
For anyone wanting any base at all we will have to go with an amp and some nice speakers.
I went by best buy they have some 2way poly speakers that would work fine for under $50 or go to the nice ones for $99 a pair there 3way with crossover.
If I had more time I would have shopped around will try tommorow and see what I can come up with.
as far as amps looks like the best bet is a small 2channel 1 for the front and 1 for the back this would make for easy fitment.
I saw that someone posted a link to a small amp with a remot button ROFLMAO now thats a cheap POS no offense ment.
Give me some time I will get by the stereo shop tommorow and see what they can help us out with.
the hawgwired is a ripoff as far as price, guys don't do it unless you make like 500k a year and fart 100 dollar bills ROFLMAO then have at it rich guys.
figure $200 for 4 nice speakers with more then a 1oz magnet LOL and 2 quality brand name amps $200 and your half the price.

Already done it, Audiosystems amp and Focal's. The problem is either the head unit or the speaker ports...Don't be surprised to find out you have no bass after installing an amp and better speakers. Good luck though!!!

Ok went by the local shop today there a quality only shop Alpine etc.
Alpine has just come out with the ktp-445 amp 45x4 rms amp it is extremely small 2x2x6 at most.
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ZfnXQDsXxsm/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx...
It is ment to be a power pack and boost the power of a alpine unit with harness.
I called Alpine tech dept and spoke with them they said it can be cut and spliced to any unit it is line level input with adjustment.
this would fit in the trunk under everything (cubby hole) without any issues at all even weather wise and at $120msrp it is going to be hard to beat .
speakers are a simple to change 15min rear and 25min front thats being carefull and taking your time.
However these have not been released as of yet but were supposed to be on the market in march so any day now.
Speaker selection is whatever you want cost wise from $29-$200 typical is $59-$99 there 5 inch hole opening speakers and there are tons to choose from I think 5 1/4 will work as well .
I agree we will not get a ton of base out of anything we put in, but anything will be better then the stock speakers for sure.

Just a word of caution on Alpine speakers. I was going to have Alpines put in my bike to save money, but went with the Focal's on the stereo shops recommendation. After that, I heard Alpines vs. Hogtunes on my Ultra I sold to my buddy. The Hogtunes were much better than the Alpines. And Focal's are much better than Hogtunes. Which means that you will ultimately not have very good speakers. The amp, yes, go for it...But Alpine speakers are just not all that good from what I have heard...You should be able to get the Focal's for $89/speaker. The stereo shop would only warranty the Alpines for 1 year, and they warrantied the Focal's for 3 years. Warranty for 3 years as in anything that happens is fully covered, labor, material, etc...

Good luck, and keep us in the loop!!! If you get bass out of yours, I will drive my bike thru my stereo shops front window, lol...

When you say you want loud, what did your stock speakers sound like?
when i play some digital i pod music like bob segar's against the wind at #20 it's crystal clear almost to loud.
lower volumes don't work very well at speed's above 40 mph. however volume at 15 to 20+ is great.
The system lacks base but mids to high's are very good. Am i the only one with rockin stock system?

I have listened to 3 Vision stereos so far, and all were horrid. When I say loud, I mean, at 80 with stage1, I can hear the song perfectly. With a full face helmet on with the shield closed at 80, I can hear the song very well. If you heard my system, you would understand the problem with the stock system. That is the only way I can explain it. If you read the latest magazine article on the Vision, it was one of their biggest complaints.

I wear an HJC, I just bought it new for $77.00 through Helmet Express, or something like that. They sent me an email about blow out prices, and that is certainly a blow out price. Shipping was free over $100, so I also got a spare cargo net, and a balaclava with chin guard and neck guard called a champa or something...Came in the mail fast, new, just as advertised. So, that is why I am no longer wearing my HJC snowmobile helmet, lol!!! I only wear the full face when going on long cold rides, or when the long ride has rain being a certainty...Other than that, I am in a $30 novelty halfy polo, or no helmet at all if the state lets me. The HJC motorcycle helmet sure is easier to see out of than my snowmobile helmet. The snowmobile helmet has a soft plastic, dual screen, and is pretty much needing to be replaced.

You said the "O" word, he-he-he...

Just curious. I wear a Shoei Multi-tec with flip up shield all the time. It matches my Vision. I can put on my helmet without taking off my glasses and can talk at a light with the flip up...
NO helmet laws down here unless you are under 21 or you dont have 10K PIP insurance.
My wife inherited my HJC modular with pink mirrored face shield.
