Ostrander, OH | Just brought my Vision up to OH from FL. Left Tampa on Friday at 4pm and arrived in Columbus on Saturday at 3:30pm. Right at 1,048 on the GPS. Didn't really intend to do it under 24 hours, just worked out that way because the ride was so awesome. Rode I-75 all the way and averaged 74.5 mph for the trip. Most of trip was as 80-85 but hit construction in several areas with 55-60 mph slowdown.
Couple of comments/questions....
1. This bike can keep the pace!... In FL on flat roads, it does super. But on the interstate, in traffic, up / down TN mountains, is has no problems what-so-ever. Never downshifted from 6th, and had no problem weaving / bobbing around 18 wheelers and cell phone addicted cages.
2. I chose to leave the GW in FL in favor of bringing the Vision to OH for the summer. In 12 hours of riding each day, I can honestly say that my desk jockey ass did not numb up half as much as it does on similar long rides on the GW. The feet position and softer seat make a huge difference.
3. In a couple of "down the mountain" grades, I opened the throttle up. When it hit 95-100, the bike was moving around - side to side quite a bit. Pretty much was all I could do to hold on. Not vibrating, just wind buffeting. Lowering the wind screen seemed to help a bit. Has anyone else experienced similar bike instability at high speeds? In fact, I don't recall seeing any high speed posts on this forum.
I definitely brought the right bike up north for my summer riding.

Salisbury, NC | The few times that I have had mine over 100, it seemed to have very little buffeting. It acted like it sucked down to stick pretty well. But it was more on level ground than going down a mountian. ET |

| Cherry bomb, I've noticed the Vision feels like its riding on marbels in several different scenario's. High speeds, when behind a semi picking up their draft (out to several hundred yards), and in gusting wind conditions. I think its the steering is just real light so I am currently looking into a steering stabilizer. I love the handling most of the time but I really dislike the "marbel" roll. Lets face it its only an issue every day if you really ride. I'll post when I find one and have it tested. |

Bonita Springs, FL | I have hit 111mph twice according to my GPS and have never noticed anything unusual. The Vision is really solid, I have never had the feeling as some have said about riding on marbles. I came from a HD Ultra, had it 10 years, over 50,000 miles and the Vision handles much better. I have over 3,000 on the vision in two months, all kind of driving and again, rides excellent, just the normal buffeting when a tractor trailer passes. |

Western WA | I had it over 90 yesterday for a minute, and it was completely stable. No marbles or wobbles.
Side winds aren't a problem either, as is the air coming off a semi's wake or side stream. I can certainly feel the wind, but it isn't something that I find difficult to control or causes me to stress.
Now, riding two up on my Suzi C50 on the freeway and hitting the semi's wake --- that could cause you to pucker a bit. But once again, if I didn't fight it and just let it move me around a little it wasn't a big deal. |

MN. | I was riding in a group Saturday, following a Vision Tour, single rider, on my TC with my wife on board. The conditions were VERY windy, and I was moving around pretty good. The Vision seemed to be less affected by the high winds, though he didn't have a passenger, but he did have that big trunk sticking up there. |

Twin Cities, MN | Hey Batman... Did you ride with the group from Warner's? I was on that ride too. The trip back from St. Peter was BRUTAL... I was glad to be on my Vision. My old light weight V-Star 1100 would have been really scarry. I had the wife on the back and I think it did add to the drift (and pucker factor). The group seemed to be really moving. I don't typically drive at 70-75 on the back roads. Especially in that much wind with the wife on the back. It was scarry for her - those gusts had to be hitting us at 30-40 mph. It took a while but I did relax and figured out the best way to deal with it. See you out there soon... |
