I have eight playlists on my I-pod. I have noticed on shuffle, it will not play all the songs on the playlist. It will start to repeat of songs already played. Is that because it is on shuffle, or is there something else in play here?

Do you have to use the NANO, or will one of the other IPODs work with the Vision sound system?
I should be picking up our new black tour this weekend, and we were looking at IPODs. It seems that the ones with more memory are a better deal, if they will work, but I don't know enough about the choices.

If you are going to use the iPod interface cable from Victory, I recommend that you stick to the 1st or 2nd generation iPod nano. There are known issues with the hard drive based iPods and the Vision. I have had some difficulty with the 3rd gen iPod nano, however that could be the result of a defective iPod interface cable.

If you use the stock audio cable instead of the iPod interface cable - you should be able to use any iPod that is NOT hard-drive based (i.e. iPod Classic) that means, iPod shuffle, iPod nano, iPod touch or iPhone.

Tramp, I can confirm that you do NOT want to use a hard drive based iPod. It works fine, when not running, but the vibrations make it lock up completely when riding. My screen would show the Victory logo, and I could not even get it to manually reboot (holding center button and play/menu). I got the newest nano, which is considered 3rd gen, and everthing works on it except the mute buttoon, which was resolved once the dealer updated the software version, now everything works smoothly. I opted to get the 3rd gen because it held more than the older ones I could find on ebay, and I planned to use it off the bike as well. Also, it looks like the battery lasts longer if you plan to use it for other things. I take mine to the gym. Hope that helps.

Got tired of dealing with it after the update failed to correct the problems. Disconnected it and sat on the shelf for a month. Decided to give it another try the other night. Its been working great so far. Even tried mute and it actually came back on. 200 mi. so far without issues. Not holding my breath though. 3rd gen. nano.

Broke down and purchased a Nano. audio worked fine on trip.
issues: only showed AUX on bike, cruise quit working while plugged in and could not switch through songs with handle bar controls?

Dealer will probably look like a deer in headlights when I bring it in.

How do you know the generation difference's???

I just don't see how it could be the cables. A wire goes from point A to B. After the
ends get crimped, you test all the A-B's. Done. Just too simple to have a problem.

I probably got one of your repackaged cables. I haven't installed it yet.

I have a 3rd gen iPod Nano, I broke down and got one because I didn't wanna ruin my 80 gig iPod with bad vibes...Although it did work well, after I padded the thing in bubble wrap, and a towel to absorb the vibes. I have not had any problems with my 3rd gen 8 gig iPod, and have not gotten the firmware upgrade, either. All controls work well. My cable had had some issues at first, as the end wanted to split open, and it would lose contact! I wrapped the end in f-4 tape (aircraft electrical tape) and it hasn't had problems any more. ----Metalguy
