I have read the owners manual cover to cover and did a search on this site and the VMC.
Could somebody tell me if one of the 3 positions on the interior trunk light is supposed to activate the light when the trunk is opened. Middle seems to be off, one way turns the light on, and all the other way seems to,do nothing.

Thanks

Yes. When the trunk of my 2008 is open, all the way back is off, middle is on when trunk opens, and forward is on.

A word of warning: Don't know how the later models do, but there was a problem with the '08s where the switch didn't work just right and the light would come on with the trunk closed. A number of owners found out the hard way when their batteries were drained by it.

I never use the middle setting because of that. I don't mind physically turning on the light if I need it.

On mine - towards the top(outside edge - latch) is on when open(test with the momentary switch right near there). My other 2 positions, middle and rear do nothing. I have read of a few issues with the switches/light. Hope this helps. Others will chime in with more knowledge.

i turn mine off all the time.. unless i need it. i remember when i got my first vision that a few members had their batteries drain down from a trunk light NOT turning off when they closed the lid.. so now if i need the light i turn it on , then turn it right back off.
