I've been wearing a helmet for so long... I'd feel naked without one. I do agree that it should be a choice though. So, personally I will always wear one.

When I was on my way to Sturgiss last year I took off my lid in penn and did not put it back on until the day I was heading home.
The reason I wore it on the way home is because a biker was killed just a few miles from my camp at the Broken Spoke the day before.

I to think it should be the riders choice.

A biker is already at risk just being on two wheels so weather a lid is worn or not changes very little

I would expect that bill to be signed into law right around the time they retract the seat belt law, 2 days this side of never. I don't see where wearing a helmet is anymore a personal choice than hooking a seat belt in a car, water skiing without a flotation device, or scuba diving without a training certificate.

History tells us that this Nanny commonwealth (we are not a state) will allow us minions to have a choice.

I have been riding for 25 years now and I have hit the ground with a helmet a few times. I am NOT about to try it without. However, I agree it should not be mandatory by law. Its Darwinism in its finest form, those who make the choice to be ignorant of the safety risk of riding a motorcycle have the right to share their brains with the pavement.
