When I test drove the Vision at the dealer it had the S1L1 with gatlin tail pipes on it. The Vision that I purchased has the stock exhaust on it. I like the S1L1 exhaust and understand that the Ness pipes "Big Honkers" is in between the S1L1 and S1L2, If I choose to go with the Ness pipes would it void the warranty?

How much louder is the S1L2 than the S1L1? Is it too overbearing?

I am looking for something else other than the stock without being too loud at highway speeds.
Has anybody out there heard all three or can give me some insight.

If you are riding behind the BigHonkers on the highway, you will not be able to hear the difference until the driver gets on the throttle.  If you are driving the bike with the BigHonkers on the highway, you will notice a difference over stock.  It will be loud enough to drown out the stock speakers at highway speeds.

HTH,

Tim

I personally like the sound level of the S1L1. A little throat, but not obnoxious.

+1 for the S1L1. Now that we have 2k on the bike, the sound is really nice. The sound seemed to smooth out a bit as we put on some miles. A good deep rumble but not harsh at all.

I'm running S1L2. performance is excellant They are mild compared to my cousin's screaming eagles on his HD. I noticed that you can remove the chamber with two allen screws in the back. Has anyone tried this? Uphill with slight load gives best throat.

I have Stage 2 on mine and it has barely a rumble at idle and is quiet at cruise. Under hard load I do get some good sound. I was dissapointed at first in how quiet they were but when I think of how obnoxious my Kingpin Ness pipes were, I get all happy. This is better. My stereo never needs to be cranked at all. I did see a performance improvement as well. So, The Stage 2 works well for me.

Do the S1L1 get louder after some time on them. I have S1L1 on my Vision I don't think they are loud enough, but I only have about 500 miles on them. I want it to sound like a vegas with ness slash pipes on it. I'm still young(28) and I'm one those IF IT'S TOO LOUD YOUR TOO OLD.

I've got about 9,000 miles on S1L1.  As the engine and tranny break in they get a lot quieter and the exhaust note become more noticeable.  When I take the bike in for service I can hear them starting up a variety of 4-wheelers and bikes back in the service bay and I can always tell when they light off my Vision.  You can feel the low frequency rumble in the showroom.  I have passed a lot of friends in their cars on the highway and they have commented on how nice the bike sounded as it went by.  I can leave for work at 5:00 in the morning and not wake the neighbors but still crack the throttle and make it bark if I want to.  Not a lot louder than stock but has a definite deeper rumble that makes it feel like it's breathing easier.  Wind noise has more impact on the stereo than the pipes.  Perfect balance for me.

I ride with the Big Honkers and have no problem hearing the stereo while riding on the freeway. They have a nice ruble at idle. They are loud while rolling hard on the throttle but most of the noise is behind you. Throttle response is great.
