Well... anything man made is going to eventually break. An integral part of my Vision died

:-(

My iPod Nano.... gave up the ghost early this am. No juice, won't power on, locks up multiple computers when trying to access it :-(

Need a new music storage device for my Vision now. Looking at the latest Nano (the really small square ones). Any better deals out there for them besides what the iTUNES store wants for 'em?

Gotta have music for the Vision. Otherwise it is like watching a ballet without the orchestra playing in the background...

will, imagine how I felt when my touch went crazy and never would get past the first song, and that is a $500 device, crazy. I went to the local pawn shop and picked up an older generation, 3 I think, nano and I'm currently using it. It only cost me 40 bills, maybe you can start there...

I think I posted too soon.... just did a search on how to recover a Ipod Nano 5th generation....

...hold the menu and center button down simultaneously for 5-6 seconds. It worked! The Nano came back to life!

IT'S ALIVE !!!!!

Woot!

Sheesh... I feel better now... :-) and don't have to shell out any coin for another one....

That's the perfect analogy for riding a Vision with no music!!!

Try eBay, I've had very good luck with buying either new out of date, refurbished, or simply used electronics.  I bought my iPod Nano 2nd generation back in '08 after I got my Vision and I've had no problems with it on the bike so far, if I ever need to replace it I will definitely buy on eBay again as I picked up my first Nano for only $69 plush $5 shipping!  Plus, on the first two years of Visions you had to use either the first generation touch or 1st, 2nd, or 3rd generation Nano or you have to use and adapter with newer iPods in order to get power for charging to the iPod as Apple changed something with the dock connector.

On an unrelated note, I found that I have to have a newer generation iPod in order to properly integrate with the factory stereo in my new Dodge Ram 1500, funny, NOT!

I've got a nano3 holding down a dark corner of a bottom drawer of my desk.I bought it for SYNSTR, it downloaded about 68 of 450 songs in my ipod file and won't take anymore and won't clear to try again and it's controls are goose-yer than a freshly milked tiger, what a miserable P.O.S.!!! Basically, it's $100 down the drain. I might carry it as a place to put the sidestand pad on wet ground.

Pawn shops are the PLACE to go for little knick knacks like this. ipods, zunes, wii controllers, etc. Bargain them down a bit and they're STILL making out on it.

So I was told.  My iPod touch will only work properly if not connected to any power while in use.  While plugged in, it will go through a reboot every couple of minutes, but it also charges.  I did a factory reset and that still didn't fix it. Being that it is about 3 to 4 years old, it is the best that I can expect.

I also bought a old used model off eBay.

I knew I was only using it for the bike.......so why buy a new one just to hide in the bottom of a cubby hole. You dont even touch it or control it....save the money. I figure even the condition of the battery is pointless considering it gets its juice from the bike.

Had my nano lock up once and it would not reset off the bike. While hooked up I held the bottom tune button on the bars for about ten seconds and it reset thank god. At the time I was about 1500 mi. from home.

My ipod nano 3rd generation works in my new 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport. Plugged it right in the usb port in the glove box..

I've had issues using my 2nd Gen Nano and my 1st Gen Touch in my 2012 Ram 1500 where I'll be driving along and suddenly there is static and a couple of seconds later the stereo (I have the Media Center 430 without the navigation option) will suddenly say that "This device is no longer available".  I figure since I just bought the truck in November if the problem persists I will take it to my Ram (Dodge) dealer and have them take a look at the radio.

My older iPod wouldn't take a charge after several years. I took it the the Apple store where the "Genius" told me the battery was inop, but then did me a solid and gave me a new iPod for the battery replacement cost of $59.00.
