Has anyone had to replace the drive belt yet? I have read about adjustment issues but have not read any mention of having to replace the belt.

Slyder, the Vision Service Manual, indicates the belt to replaced at 30,000 miles. Also, you should do periodic inspections or have your service guy do an inspection for wear, stone bruses, cracks, splits,etc.......

I'm almost half-way there. The real question I have though, is the 30k based off limited riding, as it would take some folk about 2, 3, 4, and longer years to put that kind of miles on. I would think that 30K in a years time is a used belt but still young. However, if inspection proves to be get more miles, is that worth holding out? or should it be a hard fast rule to replace at 30K? Just fishing for responses, this is my first belt drive. Just like the oil change at 2,500 miles, for some that is a riding season so it makes sense to change oil once a year. But I'm doing that every month and half or so. Thoughts?

My thoughts on this, it is your drive belt........To go with that, on my Kingpin I changed the belt at @ 25000 miles, based on inspection. I had a real bad stone bruse in between one of the cogs. It probably would not have been an issue, but I decided to change the belt. Got one off e-bay and changed it myself. I would look at your belt every 5000 miles, it is pretty easy if you have a motorcycle jack. Look for any signs of wear, bruses, cuts, cracks, etc.......based on that, use common sense.

Yep, my experience with belts on another manufacturer's bikes are that they last FAR longer than the 30k miles. I had a DynaWideGlide with 75k on it with the original belt, and my most recent bike before the Vision, a Heritage Softail, has 55k on it, and hte belt looks just fine. I'm sure things like burn outs, riding offroad through tall, woody growth would reduce the belt life some, but the bely mfrs have come a long way in longevity of final drive belts. I also vote for the inspection method every 5k miles or so, keep it properly adjusted, and it should easily last double or triple the recommended 30k duration.

I have a 2000 SC with 70,00+ on it. still the original belt. Only a few burnouts and just a couple of off road trips. Still looks good. ET

Ive always applied armour-all to the back side of my HD belts. Over 70k on all and never had a problem. Teeth still looked like new.Older belts were wider though. I was never one for hole shots or burnouts which can put a lot of stress on a belt. Replacing a HD belt is not a walk in the park. Victory belt looks easier. I will probably change it at recommended milage and keep the old one for backup.
