Will be installing my utopia back rest this Saturday morning right after I go to Walmarts friday night to buy some balls so I can jam the knife through the seat...(UGH!!) I have watched radio teachers video I dont know how many times so I'm ready. Any other dos and don'ts from anybody else that has installed their back rests?

I went whole hog and got the quick out and the cover for the bar. Every thing looks very well made.

Eric - I just put the utopia on my bike - you will love it.

I agree - plunging the knife in to make the cut - I just sat and stared at the seat and the knife for 5 minutes

I also spent some time using my knife to get the foam out where the back rest bar bolts to the t-bar. I just kept digging with the knife, to get the foam out of the way, and eventually was able to get both bolts from the bar bolted to the t-bar. If you don't get the foam out the foam blocks the bolts from the t-bar from accessing the backrest bar

Good luck - and enjoy the more comfortable ride

You can do it!!!

More videos coming soon....I finally have to replace a headlamp....wish me luck!

I guess that depends on what seat you have. My XCT came with a seat that has a strap for the passenger to hold on. That strap comes through a hole in the seat the Utopia backrest fits right through that hole.

Did mine last year. It really is easier than you think. I was also nervous cutting the seat but just take your time and it goes well. And yes, you will love the back rest once installed. My only issue is that as I ride, the bolt that adjusts the forward and back tilt unscrews. I wind up havindg to adjust it often when riding. I am thinking about putting a small dab of silicone on it to hold it in place. Good luck!!

I also got the Quick Out option. Did not get the cover.
