If I read the report right for first quarter sales: Victory motorcycles ( On road equipment ) only accounted for 4% of total Polaris gross income. Is that correct ??

The report I read shows they account for almost 10%.

I'm betting on the future. Yesterday I bought $6,000 worth of Polaris stock. I think it will have a spike when the Indian line is released. At least from what I read on the forums, there are a lot of riders looking to buy. Also hopefully at a more reasonable price than in the past.

I'm up over 60% and prior to that watched it climb 50%... I was slow on the buying trigger.

10% of total sales is better than 4%. I tried to search but couldn't find any specific info, anyone know how many total motorcycles were sold by Victory last year? I'm guessing 15,000........

I've used every search engine I know and can't find specific sales numbers for Victory motorcycles........Wonder why they aren't proud of their numbers ?? They seem to go up every year from the info that is published on overall quarterly sales in dollars.........

Is proud as they should be, it's only a drop in the bucket compared to other manufacturers... I have a better chance of finding a 4 leaf clover and seeing another victory on the road with me.

While we all should be proud of what Victory has accomplished (both technically and financially), I would highly recommend a different approach to investing than looking at Polaris motorcycle sales growth.

Don't misunderstand that statement, Polaris is doing extremely well, but do some quick math. Pretend that Victory AND Indian sales DOUBLE this year.......now imagine Polaris snowmobile sales drop due to a warm winter and the Off-road division drops because of Government cut backs (See Polaris' ties to the military and think about it). If those 3 things happen....even the "doubling" part with the motorcycles, guess what? Polaris' stock will drop noticeably.

Folks, the tail is not gonna be wagging this dog for quite some time. Just trying to be a voice of reason.

phoenix is correct. Motorcycles are but a small portion of PII Stock.
