Hi Everybody--

My radio has suddenly started working sporadically. Used it all the way in to work one day, then when I came out, nothing. Since then, I've tried it every once in a while, usually unsuccessfully. One time I accidentally left it turned on after such an attempt, then the next time I went to start the bike, the radio scared the heck out of me when it came on at high volume. It worked fine throughout that ride, then was dead again the next time I rode.

Any ideas?

Thanks...

The second radio I had on my '09 would do that. Do you still have the display when it doesn't work? My display would go blank when the radio wouldn't play. Not even the logo would come up. They checked fuses, connectors, etc. Then replaced it under warranty. New radio has worked fine for two years.

I've checked the battery cables, but haven't yet pulled the wing off. The display is still there, and shows volume, source, and station changes. The speakers are on.

Mine does this once in a while.... it seems to be some sort of conflict with my Garmin 665 (and previously, the 660). I also have the Victory XM radio installed. I've done all the latest software updates, on both radios (at the dealer), and on the Garmin. While the instances are few and far between, when it happens, it's annoying. Yes, the radio display still functions, just no sound UNTIL I manually turn off the Garmin... then full sound! Next time I turn the bike off and back on again, typically things go back to normal again.

I think the Garmin is the problem. I took it off the cradle (it has charging issues anyway), and the radio has worked flawlessly ever since. Weird. Thanks, Turk...
