...is occurring on my 2011 Vision. I have been noticing in the past months that it likes to "ween" itself off of the battery tender more and more. Getting to the point where it is ridiculous; for the time it takes for the charger to indicate "fully charged" and then goes into float mode...

Ammeter looks good on the bike, plenty of juice when I'm riding; starting over and over, etc....

Hooked up a continuity tester to the negative battery cable while disconnected from the battery, and ran the other end of the tester to the negative battery post. She's sucking juice, I see current going....

Wondering if it's the Gorilla alarm that I installed a long time ago? Fixing to go out and disconnect that; and check for voltage drain again.

What else could it be; what possible parasitic loss could be occurring?

mine did the same thing on my 2005 kawaski 2008 vision and 2011 vision.. None of which had a battery that needed replaced and never had a hard to start..

this has nothing to do with what your talking about. BUT one of the most common things on a vision is LOOSE battery terminals....

Well... interesting and I thank you for the suggestion of loose battery terminals....

They were loose. But also... the Gorilla alarm was drawing voltage when connected and the bike was off. Have removed the Gorilla...no more voltage draw and the battery terminals are tightened.

I've been wanting to install the Gorilla on my DR650 anyway... since that bike is more "eyed" and stolen up here... so I guess my work tonight (uninstalling) was not fruitless....

but its been my experience that the best protection is good insurance coverage. i had a few alarms in the past and when the siren would go off no one seemed to care. even the people that set it off.. it sounded more like a video game than a real alarm... either way.. glad you found the loose connections and glad you discovered the alarm was pulling power..

The next time your at the hardware store or Lowels get a couple 1/4" washers and your cable will never come loos again. Heck whats 75 cents. Just sample washers
