, MO | Ok,I've read a few threads about the noise coming from the trunk area. Tried some of the mods and seemed to work a bit but I noticed I still have a squeak coming from the right side. If I reach back while riding and put my hand on speaker grill it seems to quit. Tried some foam around plastic but didn't help. Did a search and couldn't find anything....
Any tips???

But that doesn't solve his problem of wanting the tour pack. The best I can do is either ride with your hand on the grill or "tune" it out with the tunes. after 5 years of riding the Vision I say, "what noise..." |

Mt. Vernon, WASH. | Finding squeeky plastic issues is a daunting proposition, start by closely looking at every possible point of contact like tiny scuff marks and it won't take much contact to drive you nuts with the EEKA EEKA EEKA. Any areas that look questionable, hit with a couple passes with a piece of 220 grit sandpaper or an emry board, then do a ride check. Might take few tries, or you might find it first time but it's worth the time invested for quiet on the road. Also look for overtightened attach points like screws and screw holes not lining up which will cause chaffing squeeks. Time to become a super sleuth |

Grand Cane, LA | Have you tried greasing that side hinge? I did the same as you and tried all the mods and found that my problem was the hinges. Once they get dry they tend to "squeak" with every road imperfection. Find you some lithium spray grease or some of that spray that is waxy (for the life of me, I can't remember the name of it) and soak the hinges with it and work it in. This should help if yours are like mine. |

Tucson, AZ | If its the speaker grills, open trunk, take out the 2 screws at the top of the grills, put a felt dot between them and put the screws back in. Just be careful not to over tighten the screws. This has eliminated alot of the rattle. I did the same to the side panels. I now only have the lid rattle on big bumps.

california | Go to your local stereo shop and buy a sheet if "dy
namat". You will have to take apart the blinker lenses and upper black side covers and speaker grilles.
Upon doing so strategically place a few felt dots and line the plastic side covers with the Dyna mat and you will be satisfied... i was. |
