2011 VV - The other day I hooked up a new power outlet below the rear speaker for my wifes heated jacket. 1st I tried to hook it into the wires under the trunk liner that were attached to the wires running to the trunk power outlet. I tested it a couple of times and it worked however the 3rd time prior to final assembly it did not work, yet when I touched the wires to the existing outlet it there was power. Thus I fiqured I blew a fuse. Call to my local dealer established those wires are low voltage wires (CB -intercome set up) and probably did blow the fuse. Plan B which should have been plan A is I ran the power directly to the battery. No problem, outlet gets power. Today I'm riding in and when I hit the turn signal all signals flash like if I hit the hazard switch. My thought is this, 1) the fuse I most likely blew, could it be connected to the turn signals and the flashers are on different fuse or 2) which I think might be the cause. I grounded the outlet to the same place I grounded my Alpine Amp and most importantly were I grounded my Kewmetal floor boards that have the run/turn LED strips. Having 3 grounds on the same screw especially one that does effect the turn signals, could this be the problem?

If you blew a fuse they would not work at all. Grounding all three components to same location is better than grounding them at separate locations. So, the fact you have 3 ground wires on one screw is not an issue. There are many possible culprits to your problem. Start by checking that your "ground" screw is truly grounded and all 3 terminals are making solid contact with it.

Electrical issues can be hard to track down. At least you know it is something you did and you know where to start looking. The real PITA's are ones that show up before a wrench has ever touched the bike.

Good luck and let us know when you find the problem.

Problem fixed. The 20 amp fuse for the secondary lights was blown. Not sure why the turn signals do not have their own fuse. This fuse is tied into the low voltage extra wires in the trunk.

Never do any wiring with out a test meter there cheap and you can get one any place. Ground wires can go right to the frame or motor never to any other metal.
Careful on stacking grounds
A trick I do on those pins that cover the fuzz box covers never push the center down all the way that way you can pull them out if you need to on the highway
