Prairie City, IA United States | Today I rolled over 20K miles on the bike. Not bad for 10 months of ownership. We rode by Lake Red Rock today and I learned a valuable lesson. The Great Lakes Pelicans have migrated to the lake and a large flock fly right at us and over the road. I honked the horn to keep them away. Bad idea. Have your ever seen a flock of pelicans take a group crap? When we got home I spent the next hour washing the crap off my bike. Lesson learned.
I hope to get at least another 5K on the bike before putting it up for the winter. If I am lucky like this last year, I can ride all year long again. Not getting my hopes up for that again. Man I love this bike! |

Have your ever seen a flock of pelicans take a group crap? When we got home I spent the next hour washing the crap off my bike. Lesson learned.

2 long trips. One this spring to Shreveport, LA 1,700 miles and 1 trip to Yellowstone, WY area 2,800 miles. Usually 500 - 700 miles on the weekends and as many days as I can ride to work at 50 miles a day. |

Grand Cane, LA | lstayner, I live about 30 miles south of Shreveport. When did you come this way? Hope you got to enjoy some good ole' crawfish while you were here. They were plentiful this year. |

We rode down the 3rd week in April. We had a crawfish boil with all the fixins, my first.
I still hang out with a bunch of guys from am old forum from my 1st bike (2007 - 1300 Star). We get together about 3 times a year all over the US. About 1/2 of us ride something else now. One of the guys is from Patterson, LA and he brought 120 lbs of crawfish up for the meal. We had cajun sweet corn, Anduie sausage & baby red potatoes.
For a yankee - can you say HEARTBURN? Wow, you guys like it hot.  |
