Today on the last leg of our 16-day 5,335 mile round trip from NJ to CO, the Vision tipovers saved our skin. Riding on a very wet and slick road, we crested a blind hill and were faced with a line of cars with brake lights on at full stop. When I braked, the back end came around, the Vision leaned right, fell over and spun 270 degrees clockwise down the road for about 30 feet. The Vision came to rest on its right side. My wife & I stayed on and were completely unhurt.
The right rear tipover was ground down, the right saddle bag heavily scratched, the brake lever end snapped off, and some fairing damage around the right mirror.
With the help of some good Samaritans and getting the bike upright, I found it started up and still rode well. One fellow we met there went home and got some heavy wide electrical tape for us. I jury rigged the right turn signal back together and taped the fairing back up. The Vision took us home on the interstate over 200 miles without a hitch.
What an amazing machine the Vision is. My wife and I are still marveling at how we were able to walk away from this accident, pick the Vision up and ride it a long way home. Thank you Victory!

God bless the engineers who designed the tip-overs on the Vision...I also have had the opportunity to twice test the ones on my 2011 Tour and so far no damage to me or the bike...No where near as traumatic as the post above, (thank the Lord), but I am glad to have a bike that has them.....Glad you folks are okay as the bike can always be replaced/fixed.....

The wife and I share your story of being saved by the tipovers and finishing a trip only because of them. Glad to hear you are both OK.

Wow, wow, wow... Not to pick on the Victory family, BUT what if this was a Cross Country? Any one have any experience sliding like this on a X bike? Thank God you and yours are safe.

what if it was any bike?  I've seen several Visions take a beating and keep on ticking.  A 10th Anny got rear ended and nothing happened to the frame work, they replaced everything back from the engine in the body work and as far as I knew it was running fine.

I got tapped and pushed about 3 feet while sitting at a stop sign.  While there was Visible scratches on the body work, and misaligning of the door, I didn't have to replace anything.  While this has nothing to do with the TipOvers, the TOPs makes this bike in situations like this.  Given any other bike, to include a CC/CR frame, the bike would be beyond repair.

the moral of the story is, ride safe.

The dealer I bought mine from had a Vision he showed me that the owner hit a deer with.
The bike was a write off due to age and damage but the owner said the bike hardly wavered and sliced the deer in half.
He went on to say he did not even know what he hit until he stopped and looked back.
I was amazed!!

It's not surprising.
This same Vision of ours killed a deer a couple of years ago. We never went down and continued on our trip with some minor repairs to the fairing.

Damm Deer have no idea what they are facing when they challenge a Vision.
