I have a 2010 Vision that has had the factory connecting plug for receiving the Garmin Zumo 660 gps removed.  This was done in order to connect a Garmin 2720.  I am trying to purchase and connect the Zumo 660 and wondering how to do this since the factory connecting plug is gone.  Any suggestions?

I tried using the Tyco style connectors that match Oem. Pins too small and my patience was too short. I directly soldered normal trailer type plugs that I got at Walmart. Should only be 4 wires to connect. Do a search here and one of the guys posted a wiring chart to show connections. Good luck

Thanks.  I assume you still need the Vic Audio integration harness?

Nope. My 660 had all of the wiring to wire direct. Just have to be brave enough to cut the included cable, fish out the right4 wired and solder connectors

Any ideas which wires connect to which on the bike?  Does this allow the gps directions to be heard through the speakers and/or headset?

I've got a 665 on order, so will be doing this real soon also. My understanding, if you tap into the L/R speaker wires going to the Ipod/Mp3, you can have stereo output instead of mono. Not sure though.

I have a 2009 Vision, and I used this thread and parts suppliers to connect the zumo 660 to my vision. Had to cut the stock Zumo cord and crimp on the pins and assmeble the plugs, but works like a charm, and looks as good as factory install.

Well Im going to post in this thread for a GPS question as I think it is the best of all the GPS wiring threads I have read. First thanks to everyone over time that has contributed to GPS mounting and wiring as well as who ever had the link to download the 2009 electronic SM.

I am about to mount a ZUMO 550 Ramball/Locking mount on my VV console. I got the ball and new power cable, 1/8" output mono cable from GPScity.com (thanks again for that rec also) so that I can simply move the GPS from bike to bike. What I am unsure of is if the above wiring diagram is same as my manual as I have not found anything newer for a 2011 and shows 4 pins for the GPS. Another forum said the GPS connector was stereo but may have been thinking of wiring into the Ipod/Aux which I want to avoid. I dont care if it is stereo or not as I use my ipod for music control. I Do want to ask if, once installed, the CB/INT Comm kit allows for MIC input back into your GPS (which is BT into my phone) using any of the available wiring. Before anyone slams me about talking on the phone while riding, this is for an incoming call emergency med condition use only. What I do now is accept the call on GPS and quickly pull over should the condition arise at home while I am on the road. It is not critcal to do this but if it is possible I would like to know.

Also, I read that there is now a fifth wire in quesiton for GPS that is not stereo. Has someone found out what this wire is for?? Not getting the harness because I am not upgrading to the 660. Already have 2 GPS, don't need a 3rd. lol...

Thanks in advance, I know I am new here but I am EXTREMELY happy with the about of DETAILED information available. Lovin my VV and thanks to all that contribute to groom it into a better ride!!!!

Last post from 2011? Am I missing the 2nd page?

No, it had the pertinent links, comments and wiring diagram I was referring in my question about 4 or 5 wires to which the more recent posts did not. Also beings my VV is a 2011.. ;-) I used the search and have been reading for a few days now so this one seems best to use rather than start a new one. Any help is appreciated.

Your last post didn't show up when I replied. I'm all for bringing threads back from the dead but honestly, it wasn't there.

Or the medication is wearing off.
