Northern Virginia | So i read my 12 Vision manual and i have a few questions that i hope some of you can answer:
1) Can i use a bike pump for rear suspension adjustment
2) Do i really have to cover the heat shields with plastic? I have never done that with any of my bikes
3) The trunk light has 3 positions, but i think only one is working. is that common?
4) does the witch doctor pipes sound as good as D&D pipes (with baffels)?

Boots: So my trunk switch does not work in the on position, just off and On when open....hmm something for the 500 mile service.

Peru, IN | A zero loss hand pump with a 0-60psi gauge is the best. It doesn't take much to add air and if you don't use a zero loss pump, you'll lose air every time you pull the hose off. If you look around, you can probably find one for less than $30.
Why would you have to cover the heat shields with plastic? If you put plastic on the hot heat shields (and they WILL get HOT), all you'll do is melt the plastic.
I only have 2 working postions on my trunk light, too. On or off. The 3rd position (which I assume is for on with the trunk open/off with it closed) has never worked. My crappy dealer said it wasn't supposed to work that way at my 500 miles service. If you figure out a way to get it to work, let us know.
I don't know exactly how the Witchdoctor pipes sound in person (although there ARE YouTube links on his site), but you can't go wrong with his pipes (baffled or non-baffled). They're far cheaper than the rest and sound quality is a very personal thing anyway. What I think sounds good, you might think sounds horrible. My "loud" may not be your "loud", etc. I don't know where you live, but if you're anywhere near NE Ohio, stop by WDs place. If you drop the cash for one set and don't like them, he'll swap them out (assuming you don't come back 6 months later). He's VERY easy to get along with. I wish my dealer was as customer oriented as he is. |

Not sure but it may be that the on position is now not used, it has been fairly common to run down the battery not realising the light was left on when parked for a few days. You really dont need the on position at all |

My bike has been sitting in pouring rain all day while I am at work. I hope the pipes don't fall off on the way home.
I really don't know why they have that called out in the manual. Switches, cables and controls make some sense but I have never covered those when washing or riding in the rain either. |

Sense? Not really, mate. The bike's meant to be ridden in the rain. A little water from your garden hose isn't going to hurt anything including the controls, switches, cables, etc. I probably wouldn't use a high pressure washer directly in the speakers, though. |

I agree they should be made to ride in the rain. Why then do they tell you in the owners manual to cover them when you wash it? I have had about 20 owners manuals for new bikes and don't remember any other manufacturer calling that out (not even HD). I ride everyday rain or shine (sometimes even a little snow like today) but never would even consider covering anything up. What's up with Victory? |
