| Guess I posted this in the wrong area Oops... I am needing to know how to install pulley studs in an 08 oem vision rim that I had powdercoated... Is this something I can do myself or do I have to take it to the stealer? |

Beer Collins, Colorado (there is no fort) | The studs look to be '08 exclusive my '09 has bolts like my other Vics I've worked on. Not sure what's involved putting the studs in-I would guess if you clean the studs & the threads in the hub, double nut the stud and put some red loctite on the threads and get 'em good & tight you'd be fine. Don't know the exact specs.
There was an issue on the early Vics with powder coated drive pulleys, one of the 1st recalls. The powder coating would erode loosening the bolts, the sprocket would begin to wobble, and if not detected would self destruct over time-the fix was to remove the powder coating from the contact areas so it was metal to metal. I don't know if this would become an issue but I would scribe the sprocket and remove the powdercoating if it was mine.

Grand Cane, LA | According to the manual the studs are to be torque to 25ft/lbs to the hub and the nuts to 60ft/lbs for the sprocket. Got this from my '08 shop manual. Use Loctite 262 (red).

| You do every other bolt about half torque. Once you have all half torqued then go the rest of the way till full torque.
