Was looking at the 2009 catalog for the Vision and I had to wonder why any of us would order a chrome rear valance, chrome rear tip overs, etc... when we can simply remove the ones we have and have them chromed for 1/3 the cost.
I like the Saddleman seat with rider and passenger backrest they are offering, but I like what I've got set up now. I'd like to have seen a nice billet laid forward license plate bracket and cover.
I'm a little upset that they stole my rubber cowl insert idea, lol, but its a very good item to add for the money. I'd like to see them offer a 3M backed rubber panel for the top of the front roll guard where I put my feet regularly. I'd also like to see some passenger boards that extend "foreward" an extra inch or so. The stock boards are actually tucked in a little too far rearward and too near the saddlebag front.
Oh well I'll likely have the valance, roll guards (rear) and passenger handrails all powder coated wih the new chrome like powder coating in a nice cherry. Everything else is staying stock.

The valance pieces are plastic and can't be chromed so I think the pieces they are selling are made of a different material. I know a few people have tried to chrome the rear tip over protection pieces but with not very good results due to the texture of the metal. This is why Victory is selling a chrome cover that fits perfectly over the stock pieces.

Powder coating is a good option but many will want true chrome.

The rear valence that they sell is plastichrome; hence, my dismay. The dealer sent me a chrome replacement for the stock one they marred (I live over 300mi away from the nearest Victory dealer, so I elected to replace it myself). If I had paid cash for this peice and it showed up plastichrome, I'd be on the phone with Polaris that minute! Of course, I didn't do the shopping so I didn't research it either.

So tell us where you get quality chrome cheap....
I modified my '03 intake cover and had it chromed at Advanced Plating. Quality "chrome" but that little plastic piece was $125. I had Brown plating do my '99 Pass floorboards and you can see the dimples in the valleys.

Blue, I use Khlein Plating Works Inc. in Erie Pa. These are the same folks who did all the chrome work for Indian. I have a friend who works there so piece work isn't an issue.
There are several companies who now do the anodized powder coating (looks like colored chrome) but I haven't decided who to go with yet, still researching. The powder coating can be done in several colors to include red, blue, gold and black.

I'm gonna have to do some inquiring about the valance as well. Being plastic may or may not limit options. I will let you know what I find out.
