My iPod connection was installed before I purchased bike. I do not have an iPod, but when I plug in my iPhone, it reads "this device does not support charging". Question is: if I use an iPod, will it keep it charged? Should it charge an iPhone, or is there a problem in the wiring? (Well actually this is 3 questions....

1) Yes it would keep an iPod charged.
2) I suspect you have the white cable, which will not charge the iPhone, but otherwise works fine.
3) Not likely that you have a problem with the wiring, the correct cable for iPhone should cost around $100 at your dealer.

Thanks. Gr8punkin. Now I'm wondering, should I get an iPod or a new cable? Prob. Get more benefits with iPhone plug...

Clarification: The iphone cable is for iphone 4S and older (4, 3G, 3, etc.) with the 30pin connector. I don't believe Victory has begun offering a connector for the smaller iphone5 Lightning connector.

If you have a iphone 5, Check out the discussion about the Lightning-to-30pin adapter on this site:

Hey Jeff et all

You can purchase a cable adapter whose one end is 30 pin and the other which plugs into the iphone 5. The adapter cable is appx 6" long which makes it very convenient. It cost appx $30. I've been using it on vision for the past few months. It provides AUX connectivity via the vision 30 pin cable, charging and no error message.

Hope this helps

I have an 08 Vision with the with Apple 30 pin connector. It does not charge my Iphone 4s, Ipod touch 2nd generation or 6th generation. Track select and every other feature works great. I think the cable might only work on the original Iphone with charging. I turn my fone on "Airplane Mode" while riding unless need the GPS to save battery. That has lasted me the entire day and still lots of juice after listening to the music for many hours.
