Anyone found a decent map pocket or tank bag for the Vision ?

I have my GPS, but there are times I just want to have a map in a clear pocket in front of me.

dragon bob makes a dash bag that I believe has the option of a clear bag in front that's the size of a bigger cell phone. I have his regular dash bag and it's great. A must have for the vision.

Maybe a tactical arm band would work for you rather than cluttering up the dash?

I like a tank bag as well. There is a gal that makes custom made tank bags for the IBA guys, but I cannot remember her name for the life of me, but very popular. Anybody know? That's one of my few issues with the vision in that the amount of room they took up for the radio setup was too much and not enough room for a tank bag.

This FirstGear below may do the trick. Not very large, but it should fit. Please take a look at the dimensions and the price is right as well.

Acetate your map (the panel you expect to use) and then tape it the the console.

I like the dragon bob bag for an actual bag, that makes sense to me.

Wingstuff.com is a good resource!

Found this one that might work, its 9-1/2 x 9-1/2. would need to figure out a strap for the top and then tuck the two pigtails under the v-panel.

Applying magnets to strategic points on the above holder would probably do the trick

What are the magnets going to stick to on the bike? It's all plastic tupperware.

The center console is steel.

Center console is aluminum. I would guess if you were dead set on a tank bag you could go with some adhesive /sticky back velcro to hold the bag in place & be easy to get it out of the way for fueling.

I stand corrected. I could have sworn it was steel.

I've been using a tank bag by Wolfman Luggage?. http://www.wolfmanluggage.com The name of the bag is Rainier. Plenty of room, Straps stay out of the way. It does make fuel stops a little less easy. I have to hold the fuel door open because the straps hinder movement a bit. Small price to pay to have so much more storage. I'll try to post pics?

I forgot to add that I went with the optional Map Pocket. What is shipped with the bag is a slightly smaller than i wanted. For my needs I wanted an 8 1/2x11 pocket. They communicate when you have any questions with great speed, and they are made in the good ol USA!!!

Thanks for the PICS Mess! A picture is worth 1000 words! Looks like exactly what I was looking for myself! Any issues with being able to access the radio with the tank bag in place? :cool Vlad.

It appears that RevZilla also carries this product for 148 dollars. Not water proof, which from my end is no big deal.

I access the radio thru grip controls and iPod in the glove box. You can still see the screen, but only if you lean forward. Items in the bag have unintentionally changed my play list due to pressing a dash button but maybe only 3 or so times. tomorrow I can run out and take pics of how its tied down. I bought a few but stuck with this one, quality is 2nd to none!

I just took a 2nd look?. This tank bag I have pictured is one of the first I bought. It is called Large Expedition. I still have this one but I don't enjoy it as much as the Rainier. I will get up to date pics tomorrow and the mounting if you'd like. Sorry again, but at least you see somewhat how it mounts up.

I have an 09 Vision and I am not sure if anything has changed since then, but I cannot power up the radio/Ipod whatever without pressing the master radio switch down low. Does this mean you have the radio/Ipod powered on consistently every time you start the bike? I also have the auxiliary jack down low, which would put the tank bag in the way of being able to access that as well. I would prefer a tank bag I could leave on the bike. One of my few negative comments with the Vision is I don't think the engineers thought things through very well as far as making accommodations for a tank bag, which a lot of utility riders like myself would like considering this is a long-distance touring machine. Nothing like having access to a map if you cannot afford a GPS on the go and your favorite trail mix or candy bars handy on those long rides. Hmmmm.

Maybe a custom tank bag will be the answer, but it will be pricey due to the center console and auxiliary jack issue. Please see Linda's custom tank bag site. I know her stuff is well made by hand and popular with the IBA folks. See link below. Anybody purchase her tank bags? Vlad.
