First I want to say I am not affiliated with Scuderia West except for the fact they repaired my bike after our recent accident (see our post:  http://www.vision-riders.com/bb/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=1360&posts=23&mid=13373&highlight=scuderia&highlightmode=1&action=search#M13373).  I’m sorry if this sounds like an advertisement but we are all interested in who the good Dealerships are and where we can expect good service.  Scuderia West seems to be that place in Northern California.  Don Lemelin, a very hands on owner, has been there for us every step of the way in the repair process, a godsend since we are 750 miles away.  The first line of Scuderia’s philosophy on their web site(http://www.scuderia.com/ ) is “Treat customers with the respect they deserve and deliver the highest degree of service possible”.  Don and his service technicians clearly intend to carry out this philosophy.  The only delay in the repairs has been getting parts from Victory and Don did all he could to speed that process.  After the accident Progressive had not yet settled on Scuderia as the repair shop until after we had departed Northern California, so, when I picked the bike up on Tuesday, I had my first opportunity to meet Don in person and see his store.  All of the employees that I met seemed to be just as customer oriented as Don; an obvious testament to how Don runs his business.  The bike looked just as it had before I crashed it on Hwy 1 north of San Francisco.  Don made time (like I said he is very hands on and busy) to make sure I understood and was happy with the repairs.  He sent me down the road very happy but he also gave me his personal cell number so I could call him if I had any concerns during the journey home.  So if you’re in Northern California and need service or are looking to buy, go see Don and his staff, they believe in customer service.
I have to also say that Progressive Insurance, after a slow start, has really come around.  I am impressed with the person assigned to overlook the repairs in San Francisco.  He visited the shop several times during the process and kept us up to date on the progress.  Don also said that he has never had any problem dealing with Progressive.
So the saga of our ill-fated trip to California comes to a close.  It was great to be back on the bike during my trip from San Francisco to home.  I did experience some of the heat around the legs especially when the temps in southern Oregon reached 100, but, it wasn’t unbearable and when you’re sitting that close to a big engine running constantly shouldn’t you expect some heat?

Happy, safe riding to everyone.  We’re back in the saddle
