Heat,
bad radio,
won't start,
dies,
bad speakers,
sputters,
no cup holder,
bad mounts for the GPS,
over-priced service,
bad service,
no service
accessores that are higher than a Harley or Ducati
plus the trunk related wind driven boogie on the highway, and dimples in the bags, etc.......

I may let my dealer keep the 10th and buy something else.

Reading this forum, it sounds like the Vision is a bunch of junk.

well out of everything you listed....i have tow of them and they are minor....I love the bike...I hands down think it is the best bike on the market.....I stoped by the Harly dealer the other day to look at what they had (to kill some time) and it reafermed to me y i bought this bike... the hardly looked so dated and was....small.... stoped by the honda dealer and looked at the gold wing and it was so....cramped.....saw a new BMW today and I would need a steplader to get on it.......The Vision is just right, and is a great ride!

Quite frankly, I don't have problem with any of the things you listed (I don't have a GPS, so I can't comment on that), and while others in this forum have listed each of the issues you mention, you would probably be hard pressed to find anyone with all these issues. I have had far more problems with Harley and even Yamaha. And I am also sure that for each person who has a particular problem, there are a hundred that don't.

Personally in over 40 years and probably over 250k miles of riding, the Vision is the best touring bike I have ever ridden, and that includes Harley and Honda. Now that doesn't mean that the Vision is without fault. All bikes, especially a new model, have their bugs. But I, for one, prefer the Vision over any other touring bike on the market today, even with its problems.

But to each his own. You are free to think the Vision is a piece of junk, and buy whatever floats your boat. But I would strongly disagree with you, and my opinion is based on actual experience riding many bikes (including the Vision), not just reading forums.

Of all the complaints, here's what you DON'T hear:

Handles Poorly
Rough Ride
Doesn't Corner Well
Too Difficult to Maneuver
U-Turns a real pain
Shaky Kickstand
Poor Fuel Economy
Bad Ergonomics
Seat gets hot after an hour
Bumps me off over Railroad tracks
Vibrates the rider
Passenger Discomfort
Seat needs to be changed to an aftermarket/overpriced seat
Trunk can't be removed
Windshield can't be easily adjusted
Clutch too difficult to pull
Not enough acceleration...and my favorite
Numb Thumb

Personally, after the ignition recall, I've not experienced the problems others have. My Vision is garaged and possibly having it exposed to the elements could have caused some of the problems others have reported. Considering the 08 is a first generation, built from the ground up bike, I think that in the big picture, the Vision is in a class of its own...and that's the head of the class.

In terms of the heat...well, I ride with boots and long pants. If you ride with shorts or sneakers, you will feel the heat on the right side. Not a problem for me with Jeans and Boots.

IMHO, this is the best all around cruiser/tourer on the road today. I like it so much that I'm getting an Anniversary model. That action alone speaks volumes.

Out of everything you just listed, i only had issues with the Fm reception. and from what i hear that is already being worked on. Must of the time i use a ipod anyways. how many bikes out there can plug a ipod directly into it and be able to control it? I really dont get the heat issue thing. Maybe the people who complain about it have short legs or were used to smaller motorcycles? I dont wear shorts when i ride. you said no cup holder. victory came out with a cup holder this year. I have one right now on my bike. It worked perfectly in turns. as far as speakers they arent "bad" they just arent the Best. HD owners do the samething along with GW owners. they all replace their speakers to a higher grade set. I still have my stock ones and i can live with it for now. I hear nothing wrong with mine. But i also never heard a set of high grade speakers either, so i might not know what i am missing. as far as over priced service that is up to your dealer. My honda dealer up here charges $65 an hour labor rate. my HD is $70. I dont know what "too high" is, but so far the going rate is at least $60 and higher where i live. dimples in the bags? i thought that was resolved along time ago? and i also thought i read where victory covered the ones that had the dimples.

For all the things you just listed, go to a HD forum or any other like bmw etc and sit back and do a search for their problems. and get ready to take alot of notes.

The only problem I have is the **** radio. Everything else works great! If you bought a MC from the Motor Company you would have the same issues, such as crappy service, etc. All of that really depends upon your dealer and here in Texas we've got several great dealers!

I'm not sure what everyone is squawking about on the speakers. These things rock. I've got the S1/L1 pipes and Gatlin tips and I can hear my radio just fine at 75. Besides.....come on guys do you really expect Bose quality sound on a bike at 75? If you do you better trade that beast in for a car!

I've been on this website for about 2 months and it's surprising to me how many of our riding buddies complain about their bikes. Yes it's their right, but when I look at other brand forums (Star Club for Yamaha and V-Twin) all those guys do is lie about their bikes. The Vision is my 2nd Vic and I'm the first in line to say this is the best MC brand around. When looking at the Vision, I also rode a Ultra Classic and Goldwing and there is no comparison to the Vision.

Soooo.....go ride one and forget what all of us say (including me). Make your own choice because none of our comments really matter anyway.

Best of luck and keep the shiny side up.

Hummm....I have not had any of the problems, well except for the cup holder. I don't have one of those. The GPS mount is a new one I have not heard of. My GPS mount from Victory works just fine.

I really like my Vision, It is not a piece of junk.

I have ridden them. And I've been told to get the checkbook out for the 10th that I was selected for. The post was a tongue in cheek thing because of all the posts with negative things in them.

I have to say I don't have any of the problem others have talk about. The heat is no big deal and the radio just use a mp3. Its one of the best big bikes i have had in the wind, wind is no big deal. I get 45mpg, a bike that handles great, got 18,000 miles on my rear tire (never got that on any other bike I've had ) the front still looks good. IT always puts a big smile on your face.

I always tell folks why I bought a Vision was because I was tired of my Harley not starting. This usually brings a smile to the faces of Harley riders who know the truth. A lot of people are looking for perfection out of a motorcycle and quite frankly the motorcycle industry is one of the most imperfect industries out there. Bottom line is that the Vision is one of the most reliable bikes on the market today and if people are complaining about heat, Ipod not working or other problems then so be it. At least no one is complaining about how long they had to wait for a tow truck to hall the bike back to the dealer.

Oh you have missed so much, I see you are new here. I had about a "SEVEN" hour ordeal waiting on a tow truck, damage, bike don't start, sheetrock, BuckN8kd, etc.

I still find myself looking for oil under the Vision, but alas, not a drop! But its good to know my Harley still provides that protective coating on the floor of my garage. As far as starting is concerned, I never had a problem with the Harley, but then my driveway slopes downhill, and as long as I don't lose traction in the oil, I just pop the clutch and it starts right up.

Did anyone else realize that Smitty never replied to any of these replies? Hmm...did you give him food for thought?

I read hundreds of negative posts but found billions of good ones. I bought mine and cannot believe just how awesome this bike is. I will NEVER go back to a HD UC, Kaw, Honda, Suzuki or Yamaha (all of which I have owned) as long as Victory is building and updating the Vision!

Smitty...seriously, go to youtube and watch all of the comparisons and you will see just how many HD, BMW and GW comparisons say that the Vision kicks the SH!T out of ALL of the other touring bikes on the market today!

Actually, he did in about the ninth post down where he replied that his original post was a tongue-in-cheek reply to some of the negative posts he has seen.

I don't understand the bad speaker thing. I use my IPOD and the speakers almost make my ears bleed. The sound is clear, crisp and loud. I only have trouble when I'm listening, or trying to listen the the radio.

I also think that this is by far the best motorcycle I have ever owned, it is also the choice I made of all the ones I rode. I don't think most of the owners of Visions I talk to are in anyway disapointed but many have high exspectations and any little blip spins them out because they have no track record with the brand. I have had 2 h-d 1 honda and 4 Victorys now and I can assure you if you have a real issue I will be dealt with and resolved. ( find an engaged Dealer) and ride that bike as much as you can they are fun!

Yeah, I don't get it either. I'm half deaf and I put the volume at about 12-14 and hear it great, even at interstate highway speeds. But then, I've never had bike with a sound system before, so maybe some of them sound like the Bose stereo in my car...

got 18,000 miles on my rear tire (never got that on any other bike I've had ) the front still looks good. IT always puts a big smile on your face.

But Doc, you live in California where you can ride twisties whenever you want to. I live in Flat-land (Florida to the uneducated) and have to ride 400 miles to find good twisty roads that won't "flatten" the tread in the middle of my rear tire. My first rear tire only lasted 10k miles.

I went to a job at a residence in corpus last week, along with the infinity I had to look at, the man had a BMW tourer in his garage, so we talked bikes some and when I was finished he came out front to check out my Vision. He asked all the questions that most folks ask and I told him how much I've enjoyed it and that I've already put 9600 miles on her since June. Then he got down on the ground and inspected the tires, he was impressed and told me he never gets over 6500 on his BMW's on a set of tires.
