FYI, Kuryakyn's lay down plate bracket #9182 has been discontinued. I found a vendor on ebay who had one.

I plan to also buy their side mount curved plate bracket/frame #3125 and combine the black frame from it, with the bracket from 9182. Kinda pricey buying them both, but I can't see sticking the chrome frame on my sliver/black Vision.

Sure looks like the same thing as the 9182 from the picture.

Hi JS5Owner,

I got my frame. The back bracket is so thick and tuff. What did you cut it with?

Thank you,
Chris

I put a metal blade on my scroll saw and had at it!  Then took some vice grips and channel locks and had fun bending the tabs that I cut/made.  Hope this helps...  If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask.

Jeff thank you for this MOD. With out your thread I would still have my ugly stock plate bracket.

I'm going to see how good my painting skills are soon but I'm done for tonight.

Fantastic job!!! Much cleaner cuts on the bracket than I did... BTW, did you mount frame with the LED's pointing up?

Here are a couple of new pics of mine with my personalized plate too.  I love the look and flow:

Anyone tried one of these modified brackets with the trunk on the bike? I really like the look, but it looks like the bracket may interfere with the trunk location.

Thank you. Right now its at the bottom. After I paint it I will experiment a little.

From my observation it should fit with zero issues.  Take a look at all the pictures and note how and where the brackets intersect with the bike.  It also sits lower than the other, non curved lay down sold by one of the vendors.
