A few years ago I read a very positive review of Wal-Mart's 'Super Tech' filters and have been using them on everything I own. Great filter and a great price. Plus...the ST7317 seems to fit 49 - 09 Anything...amazing!

i seriously thought about getting one of those life long K &P oil filters. but most of the time im doing a oil change it is usually in a hurry., and i dont think i want to spend the time and the added expense of cleaning chemicals and then taking the oil filter apart and cleaning it and just basically spending more time than need be. I know its a life long oil filter. but you can surely buy a crap load of high grade regular oil filters for the price of that k&p. napa oil filters are great! And since each single oil filter is good for 2500 miles (according to Vic) thats some serious miles with all the oil filters you can buy for the price of just that one.. but without all the cleaning on every oil change.. just my 2 cents.

Just for those who don't know, Wix makes the filters for NAPA. Yes good filters.

Just a quick tip, when changing your oil, before you reuse the copper gasket on the drain plug, heat it up with a small propane torch to anneal it. It will seal better. See some materials, like copper, after being hit, compressed or other such operations like bending become "Work Hardened". So after repeated use the copper gasket doesn't have the squish it once had. By heating it you are in sense annealing (making softer) so it will seal better. You don't have to do this every time, but it doesn't hurt.
Oh and as to work harding, this is why when you bend a piece of steel back and forth it breaks.
