Hey All

Just wondering if anyone has used Liquid Glass on Chrome? If so, how did it work out?

I just got some from Songfan yesterday and I will try it on a piece when I get home. I'll let you know the result.

Can't get liquid glass in Canada. We had to drive all the way to Songfan in Memphis to get it.

Gerry,
I have the full chrome package that was available in '08. I've been using Liquid Glass on all painted and chrome parts for nearly a year. Everything is looking good.

I was trying to order from a place in Ontario, however, as they were not very helpful I gave up and just sent an email today to see if I can reactivate my order from auto chic. I was trying to order from canada simply because the shipping was outrageous from the states.

Does anyone know if there are any places in northern Washington State around Lynwood or Seattle? I am making a trip second week of May, I have been told to run away as my mother-in-law and my mother-in-law's six (6) sisters are coming to visit....All I can say is - ROAD TRIP!!!!!!

Hey guys...I've purchased a couple of cans of LG and wanted to get your thoughts about if it protects the rear bags from scuff marks due to the rider.

Not sure about that, but the 3M clear adhesive paint protector film will. If it gets scratched up after a couple of years, peel it off and reapply. The paint underneath will stay perfectly scratch-free and you can't even see its on there unless you look real close and see the fine line at the edge. A local store that does automotive window tint did mine for me.

Just an FYI, when I use to get a lot of stuff chromed, I asked the plater what was the best stuff to use and he told me just plain old Windex. I use Invisible glass now only because it doesn't streak.

Chrome is a very hard surface, but it will scratch, so use a soft cloth and never use paper towels. But whatever you use, just be sure it's mild, doesn't contain any abrasives.

I also have great results with the Victory brand detail spray. Use that on everything. Paint, Chrome, Windshield. My bike is over a year old, ask anyone who has seen it, it still looks like the day it left the showroom, and believe it or not, I have never washed it! Only detailed it. JAM can contest to this.

Just my $.02. You can give change if you want.

spur, yes it will protect from scuffs. You need to spend an entire day applying at LEAST 3 coats. You'll want to allow an hour or two between coats to allow it to harden. If you do get a scuff after that it will be in the liquid glass and not your paint. A new application of the liquid glass will remove the scuff.
I would HIGHLY recommend a weekly coat after a wash until you have at least 8 coats on the bike. Each application you'll notice the bike getting more shine.

I'll second Windex for the chrome. Too many polishes have abrasives and over time it begins to hurt the chrome finish. I heard about it after going to some car shows in the last 20 years and now it's all I use on my cars and bikes.

Their web page says that selected Napa, Auto Zone and freestanding Sears hardware stores sell it. We have all 3 of those in Marysville. I will do some checking and let you know if it is available around here.

Ordered 2 cans from Napa. They will be here Monday. If you are truly taking a road trip into the area, I can meet you somewhere with one of the cans.
