I noticed that when the bike starts up that there is a high pitch electronic noise. You cant hear this once under way as other engine and wind noises drown it out. My bud, Ozzy, also has this noise on his 08 Vision. Is it the steel plate in my head receiving signals from the aliens or is this a "normal" feature of the Visions. There is no issue with anything working properly or the running of the bike.

It is most likely the ballast for the HID headlight

Very good answer. That probably is it. Any Victory with the HID light will have that high whistle as the ballast warms up. If you just turn the key on with the radio off and dont start the bike, you will probably hear it and it will slowly disappear.

Man, and to think I thought it was the dilithium crystal interaction with the flux capacitor. But it has to be the natural derived dilithium and the synthetic type. Which one are you running....?

I always enjoy a bit of lithium at breakfast. Wife says I could use more of it. Now that I know that the bike has its own supply, I can travel without worry. Thanks guys for the info.

I have ALWAYS heard that sound. Checked it out in the manual. It's the oil being injected into the metal arms that extend the Victory wings out to the side when you're going over 180 MPH. It is also priming the parking brake and the beer keg.

Just kidding. I put that stuff in there and IT SEEMS to run better, but it seems to run better when I wash and even better when I shine it up. the Seafoam was next to the MMO and I thought, hmmmm, seafoam, marvel mystery oil, if I use them both I'll never have to do another thing ever to the vision.

I'll get feedback noise from the IPod cable through the radio with the radio on and off so you might see if unplugging your IPod makes it go away.

Probie, I defer back to your original question. Is this noise heard through the speakers or headset? or is this an external noise not coming from the speakers or headset?

I'm just curious and had to think on your question some more as I'm slow of getting things at times, well, all the time.

It is not thru the speakers or a headset. Radio off-surprised no one else has heard this as both I and Ozzy hear the same thing on each of our bikes. Balast on the HID could make sense.

Probie, its the electric static from your HID bulb. to prove this turn your bike on without your HID light switch on, (dont start the bike, just turn the power key), then when you hit the HID switch you will hear your sound. Thats normal.

OK NOW FOR THE REST OF YOU GUYS I KNOW THE EXCITEMENT OVER THE NEW STAR TREK MOVIE IS MAKING ALL OR YOUR ASSES TWITCH, BUT WITH ALL THIS TALK ABOUT DILITHIUM CRYSTALS AND FLUX CAPACITORS AND MATTER ANTI MATTER CHAMBERS, IM BEGINNING TO THINK A FEW OF YOU HAVE BEEN BEAMED UP ONCE TO MANY TIMES....... boys, you do need to get out and stop watching the SciFi channel (or do what i do and tape all my shows to watch on crappy rainey days)...
