Saw a parked Vision (black) in Kehei Maui May 3.

Who Are You?  Gonna be around this weekend when I get my rental Road King?

Wowy! Maui? Not me donet, though I wish it was, even on a black Vision. I'm sure you don't need to go fast on the island. Maybe you can rent a Vision instead. Hmmmmmm.

Hope you enjoy, I'm sure after riding an HD for the time you'll appreciate the Vision all the more.

Chris - I haven't driven a HD since the last time I was here - '92 - but since it's a HD - I don't expect ANY change and am prepared to just 'suck-it-up' and ride. <grin>

I rented a HD for three days my last time in Oahu, when I returned it, the store owner looked at me, looked at the Speedo and said, where the hell did you go? I put over 600 miles on it in three days. One loop around the island is about 170 miles.... I just grinned.

That's because he was use to H-D riders coming in to rent bikes! I'm sure from then on he asked renters if they own Victorys, because if so we need to charge you extra for milage!

It is always good to hear stories from riders, they can tell some exciting ones, unlike those who just own bikes. Seems all they can talk about is what kind of wax to use...

Don, We were there 2 years ago and had a great time. Rented a Road King from Hula Hogs. Be sure to do the "road to Hana". If I recall, 617 curves, 54 bridges, and about a 3 hour drive one way. When we were there we had to come back the same way we went. The road was closed because of the volcano. You may not want to use the bike to go to the top of the volcano....really cold, over 10,000 up. Have a great time. Can't wait to see some Pics.

Mothers Fish House Maui - Your wallet will bleed, but the food is amazing.

Last Christmas the wife and I rented an Ultra and toured the island. Try Maui "Wine Country" nice back roads, little traffic. The Road to Hana is an ordeal. Bumper to Bumper traffic at 20 mph most of the time.

Wear your headgear - the whole state of Hawaii has too many tourists who dont know where they are going in rental cars changing direction for my taste.

My son lives on Oahu, he rides an 1800 Yamaha Strat- a couple months ago he put his bike on the inter-island ferry and took it over to Maui- he LOVED it. He rode up to the top of the volcano, to Hana, everywhere on the island. Three days about 400 miles... I taught him well, lunch ride should be about 150 miles.

I remember when he lived here in California, he and I went for a lunch ride- we left at 9am, about 175 miles later we stopped at our lunch destination.... he said "Dad it feel like we just did a big loop, where are we?" I said Oh about 5 minutes form where we started....

He is riding with me on my 4000 mile vacation this year in June- I can't wait!

Still can't find the Kehei Vision Man. Not on our map either......
We will do the West Maui loop Saturday. And consider the "Road To Hana" on Sunday. Problem with Hana is weather - almost always afternoon rain on North Coast. I have a rented Mustang conv't for that trip. Likely we will do the 'upcountry' winery trip on the bike Sunday. Already been there by car - great BIKE road....
Thanks
