Back in March, my 2008 Vision was rear-ended while going down the Interstate 85 here in Atlanta. The bike was totaled by the insurance company and I was able to purchase a 2009. I finally got it blacked out the way the original bike was. Here are the pictures.

It looks great!

Your Zumo: How do you have it mounted? I want to mount mine there so the wife can see it too. Did you just use a U-clamp?

Thank you, Herb

I LOVE the blacked out lowers! Did you paint those on the inside? Glad to see you are up and running again.

IN shopping for insurance, how did you fare with the 08 being totaled? My insurance company doesnt offer replacement cost
and I was just having a discussion with them on "what if my bike got totaled" they said that I would still owe the balance due on the note after whatever they deemed the bike was worth", which in the real world, could mean that not everyone could afford to go out and buy essentially a new one still owing a balance on a non existing one. Just curious how you fared with this, also who likes what insurance company and why? This would be a good topic of discussion on the site.

There is a coverage called 'Gap' coverage.  It can be added to a policy and it basically will then pay the difference between what a person has remaining on their loan and what the actual 'Market Value' of the bike might be.  It's quite inexpensive and if a person has a loan that is greater than the market value of your bike...definately add 'Gap Coverage' to your policy.

YMMV!

In one of the photos it appears you have a trailer hitch. What brand is it? Did you install yourself? Do you like it (quality, appearance, ease of install, cost, etc.)? I'm looking for a hitch for my Vision...just trying to get some info. Any info/suggestions you can supply will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Will try to answer all the questions.
. I did the paint job myself. Took the part off, primed them and painted them using Rustoleum with the spray handle attachment.
. I have Foremost insurance and since the bike had no lien, the took the book value, added the extras that I had on the bike and cut me a check. I had to make up the difference, but it was worth it for a 2009 with no miles. My old one had 27k on it.
. I made a mount out of flat metal and used u-bolts to mount my Zumo to the handle bars. The XM antenna is on the mount that I made.
. The hitch is a Bushtec. You can see pictures of my old bike and the trailer (Bushtec) on my web site. I had a Bushtec dealer in TN do the install. Love the trailer. Took a 9200 mile trip last year and it preformed flawlessly. Pictures of the trip also on the web site.
. The air deflectors were painted on the inside.

Noticed the PAtriot Riders Sticker. Do you have a way to mount flags when riding with them? I saw the Trailer Hitch also - Which Brand?

Trailer hitch is a Bushtech. I made a 3 flag holder that fits on the trailer hitch. Works great.

What primer did you use and which Rustoleum paint. I like the looks of the flat black in contrast to the gloss black. Also, what did you use to paint the wind deflectors?

I will try again to attach a picture of the bike with the trailer hitch and flag holder.
