Hi to all, I wanted to share this experience. First let me say I have ridden for 30 years and I am a new Vision owner and love my new ride. Having said that I have absolutly no experience with this machine and am learning about it as I go. Yesterday i picked up my machine from the dealer with the S1L1 exhaust, K&N air filter ECU recalibration and VFClll controller.
Heres how I came to do this : I went to the dealer and was asking about a way to get some more sound from the bike ( it was to quiet for me) he started talking techno and lost me. Just at that time a guy named Kevin walked in the door and he said Kevin has the same bike as yours (black Vision, the fastest) and had this done so take a listen to his. I did and it sounded GREAT. Kevin and I talked a little while (nice guy) and i went back inside and said do whatever you did to his bike.
So I pick up the bike and as I drive through the next couple hours I hear a noise coming from the front I didnt hear before, the bike backfires several times, stalls several times and just doesn't seem to me as loud as what I remember hearing Kevins Vision being . The quickness is definitely enhanced ( I thought it was quick before) but the other things overshadow the enjoyment. I get home and call the dealer to express my concerns he tells me they can tweak it while I wait and then to be rushed off the phone and told I will have to call you back on this stuff. Meanwhile I'm left hanging till Monday and 1500 lighter in my pocket!! Im kinda pissed
Kevin from PA if you read this please reach out so I can talk to you

WOW that was quite the rant this morning!!!

I just re-read what I had written and realize i didn't really ask any questions.
My questions are :

Is this considered a "normal" installation for this setup?... When the dealer told me the completed the install and "test drive" my expectation was a great day of riding ahead of me with no surprises.

If this is not operating properly, do I run the risk of harming the engine?....running to lean/rich potential for scorching ?

Thanks for letting me rant.. Scott

p.s Kevin B from PA (sorry I dont know anymore than that) if you would e-mail me I would greatly appreciate hearing from you

Popping on decel/shifts is considered "normal" when you get the exhaust upgrade. Backfiring and or stalling is NOT normal. Hopefully your dealer will get it straigtened out for you.

If you bought the S1L1 staged upgrade, I don't think you need the VFCIII until you do other work like cams as there should have been an ecu upgrade card that came with your kit.
