I want to buy a few at the local autoparts store, anyone tell me what size, I know they are copper but there were a couple different ones at PepBoys.

Thanks

ed, I'll check the size, but what I found was they couldn't be found around my part of town. I went ahead a bought several from the dealer and I shouldn't have to worry with them for a very long time. I've got enough for about 20 oil changes.

I have replaced my gasket once, because it came with the oil change kit. When I discovered I only needed 4.5 quarts and the kit gave you too much. I quit buying it. The drain plug is tapered, the gasket is copper, that gasket should last a while.

I tried to get a washer at a parts store and the ID was ok but the OD was too large. The next time I visited any Victory or Polaris shop I bought three to to keep in my tool box. The washer is used on both product lines.

What I have done for years is to keep one spare around. When I change oil I put the spare on. Fish the old one out of the drain pan and save it for the next change. I have never had one leak on my old Vics. Clean it and check it and the mating surface for damage and you should be good. Some owners heat them up to keep them soft but I haven't gone that far.

There is a good picture of the gasket/washer in this video on oil choice and changing the oil.
