It is discolored and ugly. Cleaned it and it helped, but is there a fix or a cover?

thanks

LOL
Yeah, from day one I always wondered what that darn ugly thing was down there. I figured it out one day checking air in the rear tire. I might have to get some BBQ paint.

You are darn tootin' there RT. However, it was 8:30 pm EST on the 20th that I took 'er for a test drive. I was on my way back home from seeing my Pop when that post was made on Father's Day. None the less, I never say the post until now, and if I saw the title, I thought maybe it was concerning reentry....heat shields, get it....???

Here's a look at mine.  I couldn't stand the discoloration and didn't want to take the exhaust apart just to powdercoat that little piece, so 600-degree ceramic grill paint.  You cure it in 3 heat-up/cool-down steps, and it's held up well for 5,000 miles so far.

Correction to my post...the ceramic paint was VHT (Very High Temp) Ceramic Grill Paint, good for 1300 to 2000 degrees F.
