If you aren't familiar with my radio issues the fast version is it burned up my Ipod, won't receive squat and locks out regularly.
So I stopped at the dealer today to check on the status of the new flash they want to try and it is done according to Vic tech support. My dealer was told Friday it should release, so I'll be scheduled in sometime next week for this download as my bike will be one of the test cases.
In the last 2 weeks the radio has continued to degrade even though I've followed Victory's recommendation and shut the radio off before turning the bike off and turn it on after running. The locking and no display has begun locking more frequent, the display looks like a bar code most times but occasionally I'll get the radio frequency display. The numbers when displayed will be partially missing, half a 9 or an 8 which looks like a 3, etc... Most times it just doesn't work.

Anyhow as soon as I have the download accomplished, I'll post with the outcome. I suspect it will have little to no affect on mine as I believe the radio has a problem and has since day 1. However Victory has assured me that if this doesn't fix the issues they will be replacing my radio. Great news since it has only taken 9 service appointments and 15 months to this point without resolution.

vicguy, yep I know and its pissing me off. Guess it must be Victory don't much like the dealer since the dealer ordered the radio some time ago and victory told them to do the dilly-dicking they have been. I'm about done with this game, but we'll give them their final play.

I don't think Victory is too thrilled with the radio vendor either, Teach. There is plenty of frustration to go around. Mine has worked perfectly for 15 months and I may have "insulted" you with that statement before.
Now it is my turn. Sunday, I Started losing XM reception and getting a "attenna" error. This is the same area I've been riding all along. AM has some spark plug noise and now I think my FM seems weak ( the latter may be my imagination).
I think Vic is having a hard time getting the Vendor to fix the bugs and it isn't too easy at this point to replace the system with a different one being that it is integrated with everything.
Anyway, now I have to start being patient and hopeful, whereas I know you're running out of both.
Sorry, I have no help but symapthy at this point. I have pretty good luck with the dealers in my area so I'll see what I can find out and share any info.

rainmaker, nope don't recall feeling insulted by anything you've said to me. Hey it is the internet so one needs to be a little thick skinned right, lol.
I hope it isn't anything major with yours and they get you fixed up quickly. Sounds like maybe you have a cracked plug lead???

I wonder who makes these radios, My AM has/had ignition noise in both radios.

Haven't had that since I sold my 54 ford.

I believe they are made by the same company that makes the units for Harley, which is Radio Sound. It is an American company.

Well if it is the same company that makes the HD radio's they must REALLY not like Victory. Not only are the HD radio's more reliable, virtually trouble free, but they sound better and pick up a channel or two.

Ignition noise on AM is usually antenna related. Poor grounding or shielding to the cables. You can change radios all day long and still have the ticking noise. However if radios are bad they should be replaced. You may want to check that all connectors are secure before changing out equipment. Some of the symptoms described could also be resulting from loose plugs that seem tight. Good luck in either case !

My Street Glide radio was Harmon-Kardon. The HD CB's are Radio Sound.
