I've been running LED's for all 6 tail lights for over 2,000 miles now and everything works fine.  However, that said, I have had at least twice, maybe three times where the cruise turned on but wouldn't engage.  I just turned it on/off several time and it started working, then continued to work for the rest of that ride.  Sounds more like the cruise switch being recognized than the LED's.  If the turn signal controller reads a burned out tail light bulb (or LED) it just flashes twice as fast.  Personally, I like the faster flash rate.

KansasGuardsman, I've had my cruise to turn on but not engage in the early days. I attribute it to the fact that I keep mine out side and it gets moisture somewhere. I've turned it on and off a few times and it starts to work. However, I've not had that problem in a very long time, a besides I hardly ever use cruise anyways now, it's more off a throttle lock so I can rest my hands or answer my cellphone....

I just ordered these for my rear tail lights. They come 2 to a set, so I ordered 3 of them:

Now, what about the front turn signal leds? Does this look like the right ones?:

How many bulbs do I need for the front turn signals?

The front takes 4 amber 3157's. One of them on each side is only used as a running light, but it still uses the dual element 3157. The only problem might be the length. It's a tight corner going into the housing with the bulb and those look right on the edge for length. They will fit OK but you may have to access the back of the housing (take it apart to get to it with a clear shot).

Be sure to let us know how they work. These are like mine but newer - mine are only a 2 stack on the side with 3 on top, and it's bright. These pups should be great.

Did you need to add a load equalizer to make the signals flash normally when you replace the standard bulbs with LED?

I plan on following the advice on this thread and NOT running a load equalizer. Fast flashing is OK for me.

I will follow up after doing the mod with my LEDs.

Yes. A load resistor will burn off enough energy to fool the flasher module into thinking it's a real bulb there. But, there's no plug in solution for that, so it will have to be hacked into the wiring with a couple of splices on each side. If you're going to do that, measure the actual current draw of your LED. There are a lot of variations out there and I'm not sure how much current some of the new higher power LED's actually draw. Then you can calculate the size resistor you need, and probably get it at Radio Shack.
