I know the touch is the primary Ipod that most use with the Victory radios but has anyone used a Ipod Touch?

New Cross Country and wondered what would be a good choice..

Well, you said touch twice.. ha. I assume you mean Nano.

I bought a new nano (a year ago) when I bought my Viz. It is awesome and works great. In the beginning I did have to soft-reset the ipod once or twice as it would continually re-play the same song. Learn the easy soft reset for any ipod you ride with. It cures 99% of problems.

As far as the Touch.... I was told that it would work, but only as one massive alphabetical-by-song playlist.

I like the playlist options. And dont forget a double tap on the thumb controls moves you forward (or backward) 10 songs at a time.... You can therefore have multiple playlists set up in increments....

nice.....

Hey.. which edge of LA are you? I am at the Orange County edge.... see ya at Cooks....

--- edit---
After further review... I may be wrong here. I was told this info for the iphone, not the touch... sorry...

If the touch does work with playlists then I would say it is the best option! You get email and full internet everywhere with WIFI. That is awesome. I have an iPhone and love it, but the playlist non-sense makes the nano better for the ride.

Oh I guess I did say Touch twice but I think being touched can be more exiting being Nanoed...

I am going to check @Apple store to verify the play list issue. But I trust that someone here has a Touch before...

I am up in the North Edge "Santa Clarita" and as it turns out this Sunday 2 Visions 1 Cross Country 1 Vegas low and possibly a couple of HD's are going to venture to Cooks, Hells Kitchen, and Toms Farm. Fist for My wife and I....

Possibly see you there!

I've used the touch and I'm having difficulties with it in the Vision. I thought I had cord problems so I bought new cord, same problem. The connection is shaky and will go from one speaker to another and freeze up. It has turned into a total pain for me to the point I'm going to try a nano. It've had the touch for about two years is great otherwise, in the beginning it was perfect to use until it develop the connection problem in the touch itself, not the bike cable. I'm getting ready to under take a major ride and wanted my playlist so I'll have to go nano. $400.oo for the touch and I can't use it in my bike

The nano works great. However... here is the only bummer and this may be the same for all ipods in the vision....

It will automatically default to #1 as your entire library in alpha-order. Then it will also force one of your lists to be "purchased" songs from itunes. The remaining lists you get to do yourself. But for the bike you only have 12 options... so 2 are taken by default, leaving you 10. And it will take the first 10 off of your itunes account.

So make sure you rotate your stuff around and get the exact 10 lists you want....

I took my entire library and clicked on the arrow at the top that put it all in alpha-order by ARTIST and then made that one of my playlists. That helps alot to find songs and stuff.... Then you will have all songs in alpha, and all artists in alpha... Very Handy...

I had the Nano and it worked great. Bought the touch at Christmas. It would not charge on the white cable. I bought the new black one. It worked fine for 20 hours or so. Then started having radio issues and iPod issues. Victory put in a new 2010 radio. there was still a problem. I sent the Ipod cord in for warranty. When I get it back I will know if it was the touch or the cable.

I bought the touch for the bluetooth, but have since found a way to add bluetooth to the Victory radio, so now I can bluetooth a nano up to my headset through the Victory ipod cable..

Will let you know when I play with the new cable.

Oh my problem was the Touch would connect and charge, but the audio would not pass from the touch to the Victory radio. I hope the new cable will fix this. will let you know...

I use the Nano Gen5 and it works great with the 2010 Vision. I use the extension cable back to the side bag. Out of sight, out of the way (velcro attached to the upper part of the back wall of the side bag), out of mind. Stays charged and I've had no issues. I don't bother with play lists, just set the IPod to repeat all and the entire library plays in alphabetical order. Takes about two weeks of riding to hear the entire library. I love it.

I have a first generation ipod touch. I've used it on the Vision, but often have a problem of nothing showing up on the Vision's radio display while music is playing. My nano is fifth generation, so I had to get the scoche adapter to get it to charge, but it plays and displays the titles as it should.
