I work in Plymouth Ma. Home of the pilgrims. You would think after 100's of years the turkeys would run away from us! But no! if you ride a Vision they want revenge for Thanksgiving. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIuFsUj4Tew

In the video it looks funny but in real life it wasn't. It would attack me 2-3 times a day for about 6 months. I wrote to the police and wildlife but they did nothing so I had my wife film it one day. After posting it on you tube they responded by shooting the turkey in the middle of the day at a five way intersection! It cased a big uproar in town. They started a face book page with thousands of friends ( http://www.facebook.com/pages/Easton-MA/Five-Corners-Turkey/1476810... ) some of them wanted to see me dead! It really wasn't funny! It was on the news for almost a week here. I seen bike's run the light at a 5 corner intersection many times because of the bird. I also had a friend get trapped under his bike at a gas station because he was filling the bike and the turkey came at him from behind and startled him. On morning I was sitting at the light when he attacked me. A woman jogger was running past me when she seen it and screamed! A truck going in the other direction skidded to a stop and the driver jumped out and tried to get the turkey off me. It was nuts! But he is gone now and I will have my revenge next Thursday!

The reason you didn't just pick him up and give him a good home on the table is beyond me. A turkey that is willing to get that close is just easy fixin's! A large tote sack or feed back, pick him up, stuff him into bag and go home. Problem solved. Nobody is the wiser, your official comment to the public is that you relocated him into the wild outside of town. Now everyone is happy.

Turkeys and Canadian Geese can be be nasty little f**kers. I work with a lady who has one as a pet. It was supposed to be dinner one year but never happened. Now the thing is like 13 yrs old and acts like the guard dog when people come around.

Did the car behind you tag it?

Do you have any idea how much money people are making selling turkey calls, decoys, blinds, etc., and as guides? You should have hired yourself out as a guide, put the hunter on the back, and let the Vision act as call, decoy, and blind.

Sorry for the pain it caused you, but damn it was funny to watch!!

Forget those turkey lovers! Turkey belongs with the rest of God's creatures......on the table right next to the potatoes!!!!

You are a kind and very tolerant person. I would have found out where the creature would roost for the night and put an arrow through it.

Ride safe and watch out for birds!

If this is the way that holiday icons treat you; then my best advice is avoid the area near Salem anytime around Halloween!

This whole thing has blown over now but it was big news here for some time. Here is one of the newspaper articles: http://www.enterprisenews.com/business/x728183524/Easton-s-Freddy-t...

It amazes me all the poeple that are bitching that the cops should have relocated him. Apparently they completely missed where the Police Chief stated they were unable to capture the turkey and had no other choice but to kill it. These folks that are bawling about a stupid bird that was posing a hazard are probably the same ones that simply shrug their shoulders and say "oh well" when they hear of a biker that gets killed by a car. They remind me of a bit Dennis Miller has about how PETA members will walk over a homeless person laying in the street in order to spit on someone wearing fur.

By the way, Fred... did you choose your board name in honor of the hapless fowl?

Congrats to you, Fred. And after reading some of those posts on the news clip, I can fully understand your wish to be anonymous.
