New Bohemia, VA | you have a tour pack I take it. I use the shoulder straps through the grab handles and tighten them. Then I use straps at the top to hook to the luggage rack for pull back. otherwise you'll just have to use the shoulder straps and lean back. The other strap I think you are referring to is to tie to a backrest. |

Houston, Texas | I have the BR4100 and I found the straps that came with it useless....I use a 12" all Velcro strap that is designed to secure extensions cords etc; I run one through the lower D ring on each side around the 'passenger grab handles' and back through the D ring. The Velcro allows me to tighten as much as I want without the hassle of buckles and is on and off in a jiffy.
I just completed a 3100 mile ride to Florida and back and never had a problem with just using two attachment points.
Beware that the "Saddleman" metal logo located mid way on the front WILL dig into your back and the 4100 is not waterproof. I put a lawn size leaf bag inside of the 4100 and place all of my stuff inside of it and roll the top closed. Then using another lawn size leaf bag that I slide down over the 4100 and wrap a 'bungee' around to keep it from flying off... that has solved my water intrusion problems.

Peachtree City, GA | I also found that the straps useless in test fittings. I have yet to take it on a trip... but was going to go with two straps to the front - (chris crossed) and the one in the back for the backrest.... I do not think I will need it for the trunk but If I do, I was just planning on using the front ons...
