Victory Vision....or Cross Roads, which will prevail.??

I love the Vison... its a bike that handles as well as it looks..Great power....

I must say i have not riden the Cross Roads. To me it seems as thou they were trying to mimic the Road glide...As if they were trying to go after that crowd of people.

From what reports i have heard .. the bike is great.. but has no comparison to the Vision. They say the Vision handles better and is a smoother ride.

Not knocking the bike.. after all....its a Victory.

I just hope they dont try to replace the Vision with this bike... that would be a sad day. I like living "outside the box'' by riding a Vision. Sets you apart from the rest.

It will be hard press to do better than the Vision. The style is part of the genis behind the Vision and the way it handles, so I can't see how you can build something traditionally styled and get what you get with the Vision. I rode a Cross Country, and though it is a Victory and it is sweet, the Vision has ruined me and I was not impressed by the CC. However, there are plenty of people that will support that line and I hope they do for the sake of Victory. To me, with the Vision, I cannot find no better and I don't need to look any further.

Once You get used to a Vision all other bikes feel cramped and small even the Cross bikes.

It's kindof like comparing classic Rock and Country Music. Both come from common origins, both are appealing to most middle aged western folks, and those folks know what makes one style of music more appealing to them than the other. To say one is loosing out over the other probably would only be due to forces at play outside of the groups buying the product.

This having been said I think it will mostly boil down to market demand. If the trend begins to swing toward one model over the other and demand for the other begins to drop, and believe me the bean counters are counting even at Polaris, then a tough decision would prabably be made.

There is one sure thing regarding the styling of the Vision over the CC, when somebody that is "motorcycle aware" sees a Vision they almost always take a double-take at the very least and usually stop and stare or ask questions for a moment. I know the same kind of people are seeing the CC out on the roads but we aren't hearing that they are being "noticed" with the same kind of interest.

Case in point, I was at an intersection today with a couple other bikes when a group of 20 plus harleys pulled up to the same light from the side street. The light was red for both directions for several seconds. The fellow on the third harley back gestured a thumbs up my way when our eyes met, and he yelled out, "That a Victory? I love that style, Awesome bike!".  Now if there had been a CC under me I doubt that anything at all would have been said even if he had recognized it was a Vic, rather they all would have just saw three offbrand bikes on the adjacent road. I'm sure some didn't like what their riding buddy said to me, but they all knew the Vision was something totally different from all their bikes, and I doubt a one of them even noticed the Goldwing or the Suzuki sitting behind me.

One additional thought, If the engineers at Victory make a substantial improvement in the design of the saddle bag in the near future, meaning storeage capacity, I think the demand for the Vision will go up accordingly. Call it my prediction if you will.

If a cross country had been available when I bought my bike I would have seriously considered it. Touring bike with 106 cammed up being 200lbs lighter somehow appeals to me.

Each bike has its own clientele... the Vision isn't for everybody.... if it was it wouldn't not be such a special bike.

I test rode a cross country this weekend at Delmarva bike week and I was very impressed. It had the tourpak on it and some extra chrome. The tourpak is the easyon ,easy off type and seems bigger than the Vision. I thought it had a great ride and handled as well as the vision. The trans seemed to be much quieter and it was easier to find neutral. The radio sounded better too. I think Victory has a winner here for people who want a more traditonal looking motorcycle. It had me thinking but part of the Vision is that it doesn't look like everyother MC. Oh, I also rode the Zak Ness vegas. What a kickass bike with the 106. It had awesome sounding Victory pipes on it, but I am much too old for that.

I think Victory is doing what Honda missed the boat on, in this Country anyway. Honda
could have both the Golding and a VTX1800 with a fairing and hard luggage. Instead,
Honda dropped the VTX1800. Honda will throw saddlebags & a windshield on a cruiser,
and then stick on a "Tour" emblem.

Also, from the Honda boards I participate on, the CC is well received. Many claim it is
their next bike. Not so with the Vision. Although I dig the Vision, many don't like the
looks, so I see the CC selling 2 for every 1 Vision. I think the CC with a trunk is a super
great move by Victory.

I see no reason why Victory wouldn't always have both the Vision & the CC available for
new sales.

After test riding a CC and I really, really liked the bike I got back on the VV and it became clear. The VV is the benchmark when it comes to Victory Motorcycles.

I like them all the Vision, Cross Country and even the Cross Roads. Now I'm the type that will keep a bike 7-8 years so I'm in a little bit of a delema. Looking back at my last 8 years of riding one long trip a year over 1000 miles (currently ride a Vegas). So looking 7-8 years into the future what will I want? I like the Cross Roads now being closer to a "open" road feeling than either the Country or Vision. But say year 3 I have the ol lady riding again... nothing to beat the comfort of the Vision. Ah... lifes decisions. I better make one next year while the Gov't still lets me. Maybe just splitting the difference between the Roads and Vision by getting the Country with a trunk will be the way I go.

I had a 2009 Vision (ice blue) and had to sell it due to financial isues. I'm now in a positon to ride again and just bought a 2011 XC (whie/silver) and so far (75 miles) I am very happy with it other than the buffeting but I have a Cee Baileys windshield on order for that issue. The stereo is better, overall it just fits me better. I did love the Vision but feel this is the best bike for me. A nice cross for day trips and extened trips. The bags are huge. I have the ipod and xm equipment on order. Pictures soon.
