ThunderCity Cycle ( www.thundercity.ca ) has been the Victory Dealer in Regina, SK, CA for over five years. They are, for the most part, responsible for establishing Victory Motorcycles in Saskatchewan and where also top sales in Canada three years. ThunderCity Cycle also has a very beautiful showroom with tons of space to display all their equipment.

Without any warning Polaris did not renew their dealership agreement and gave it to the local Polaris dealership. The new Victory dealership is small and cannot fit the lines they carry now, Honda, Suzuki and Polaris ATV and snowmobiles. On top of that the local Polaris dealership refused to take on Victory motorcycles back when Victory Motorcycles first started. Doesn't make sense when it is already well established with someone else! Why would Polaris want to move the dealership to a business that didn't want it in the first place? Kind of makes you want to go HUH?

How is that for a kick in the head? How can Polaris pull shit like that and expect their dealerships to stick with them?

all my dealers told me victory does NOT take back anyof their stock. the dealer should already know this. What you get is what you must sell. it help motivate dealers to move product. my guess there is another side to this store that you are unaware of. example would be, i have read where victory pulled their product from dealer for really BAD service, and/of financial issues related to credit apps etc. im not saying this dealer has done any of this. I have heard of dealerships loosing a brand because of such practices. could also be they arent ordering as much polaris/victory product as victory would like? do they sell another brand at their shop. (kaw, honda etc) maybe victory feels their product is taking a back seat if this is the case? my dealer Splits the show room for kaw and victory. they dont share the same Rooms... not sure if this is a demand or not?

I'm not sure if there is another side to this story but my guess is there is! However ThunderCity has always been easy to deal with and helpful. They do carry Ducati since the begining and just took on Kawasaki this year. They have loads of space all their lines with ease. The new Victory dealership on the other hand carries Honda and Suzuki with not enough room for what they already carry.

There has to be some deeper issues I am not aware of.

WOW that is a great dealership ( or was) Rocket man from here in Cold Lake lost his stator enroute to one of our Red Knights MC rallies in ND last year. They pulled the stor out of a bike in the showroom and had him going next morning at no charge of course.

Wonder what the unheard story is on this one. Boundary RV/Polaris is now doing Victory in lloydminster, seem ok. Tech is factory trained
but thats all I know, next good dealer is Elk Island sales outside of ft Sask , east of Edmonton.

I agree with the above made statement. You are not getting the entire story, only 50% at best. Usually when a dealer loses their license
its over some infringement they did in their contract OR, they are not paying their Victory/Polaris bills. At my store, we carry over 24 different lines of product that we retail. The manufacturer can only put in local competition if my store does one or both of the following.
1. Keeps a continuous outstanding past due debt beyond what is agreed to in the contract. or 2. The dealer misrepresents the product in some manner.

I suspect the truth will come out, but the bottom line is that it is a shame for any dealership to have their license revoked. It is a loss for all of us.

Regardless of the actual reason I have been a customer there for the last three years. As I am originaly from Regina everytime I go for a visit at home I buy something. I have always been treated royaly. I hope that the new dealer will be as easy to deal with.

It's always about money. Vic does not pull dealerships from funded stores that cover their nut. Much more likely there was an issue with floor plan that you never knew about. GE floor plans most Polaris stores, and they do not screw around. Once a dealer is out of confidence. They rarely make it long
