| Say if you haven't changed your stock mufflers and are going to before putting on the new performance mufflers PLEASE take a flashlight and look up the header pipe and see if you see any kind of catalytic device.
When I changed mine I was in a hurry and Dam Dam I didn't look.
So I want the easy way out and that is for you to tell me if you see something.

Rockford, IL | The Vision does not have a catalytic setup. It has a "Exhaust Velocity Device" and it has been recommended to NOT remove it. Apparently removing it will actually decrease the performance.

I am wise enough to not truly disagree with Kevin, however I would be very interested in a before & after dyno on a Vision with this modification done. I think I saw a sheet where someone did remove it and performance increased, however this mod was also done at the same time as new pipes. So the question still remains unanswered. |

I popped the cats out of my headpipes on my old Vision, picked up a few hp up top, but lost a touch of torque down low... Everything is a tradeoff... |

But where has Kevin mentioned this? At the VMC site? And....I'm assuming HP/TQ statement is a butt dyno thingie....correct? How did you get the material out of the pipe? Did it change sound at all? I've been wanting to do mine however I haven't because of Kevin's statements.

Peachtree City, GA | Change your mind - don't do it... I was a major pain in the ass... It involved a drill, hole saw, several sizes of bits, vise grips, chisels, dent puller, heating torch and about 6.5 hours...
Result - not worth it.
I help 1atom12 do it and now own the bike. I do not recall it being dyno'ed before and after on the same machine so I can not answer that.
But I can testify to there being a small loss on the bottom end and a slight increase in the top in. This has been verified with a roll on test against a couple of other bikes both before and after.
In the end I have decided not to do it mine...

Atlanta Area | Kevin mentioned it to me in person recently during a cam install... Send him a PM if you want a warm and fuzzy... Like Webhair said, it's a complete pain to get them out of the head pipes and not worth the effort... Virtually no change in sound at all... |

| After reading every ones reply and thinking ya it might not be a good deal.
I was thinking the ECM is designed with that converter being there and so if goes away the ECM more then likely doesn't recognize its gone and then any performance down loads wouldm't be right cause there designed for that converter to be there.
I guess I'll just leave well enough alone. O well I thought I could get more horse power.

Tucson , AZ | I have seen people remove the cats...way to much flow. The bike needs a little back presure in order to run correctly. You will loose alot on the bottom end. Has anyone tried a turbo on the vision? I would be interested to see how it worked. |
