I'm sick and tired of them. Only had the bike a little over a MONTH and I'm sick and tired of flicking on a blinker to have it turn off 4 or 5 seconds later, or putting on a blinker, making a turn, and having it sometimes stay on.

I'm a big boy, I can push a damned button to cancel a blinker! How do I convince the bike to let me do it? Is there a fuse I can pull? Is there a wire I can snip? Is there some sort of dance involving the sacrifice of a small animal while wearing a grass skirt and whistling the star spangled banner? Cause I'm willing to try anything. I intend on keeping this bike for many years and do not want this headache!

I'm with you....I am not a fan of the self-cancelling feature. Unfortunately Victory uses an ACM to handle the signals, & thought I have read that you have to live with it.

If I'm not mistaken, you can hold the switch partially to whichever direction you want and it will blink until you release it.... hold on, I'll be right back.....

...nope...I think you can hold them fully and then push the center to cancel when done. Anyway, when I'm on the turn runways I'm constantly hitting the button to prevent cancellation when I want to keep it going, it's just habit now.

Most new owners have issues with the turn signals. I even have to re-read the manual to remember something I forgot about them. Please re-read that part and it may help you out. I do know if you make a corner and your corner speed does not drop below a certain mph, they won't cancel. Also, if you do make a corner and they don't go off, it maybe because you didn't get above a certain mph, ~25 mph I believe. Also, there is a lane change push, that will keep them on for a few blinks then shut off. But I think the best way to solve the issue is to put on the grass skirt and dance around the bike whistling the SSB. But don't do that alone!

I've gotten used to them and like them. If you hold it for like 4 seconds or more it will turn off when you release it. If you are going less than 20 mph, like turning from a stop, it turns off when you hit 20 MPG. Lastly if you activate it going fast than 20 it turns off after a certain distance. Not sure what that it, but it's about 1/10 of a mile.

That's PRECISELY the problem I'm having. I hit the turn signal, then slow down for the turn, and it turns off. I guess that 20 mph thing is the thing that's REALLY killing me. and When I turn onto a street, especially MY street, I don't accelerate to 20. Either cause it's got a lot of parking or pedestrians or something. And I guess it won't turn off until you go above that number cause then it "realizes" you have completed the turn.

At least my sanity will be easier to hold onto now that I see exactly what the logic is to this. The method to the madness, so to speak....

In manual mode, just hold the blinker knob over for a full cycle and it will automatically turn off once you let go. In auto mod, you can cancel by pushing in the center if it fails to turn off by itself. I almost always use manual mode. That way I know blinker is on or off without having to keep looking every few seconds.

I stopped using them (most of the time) 20 or 30 years ago. I found that the signals gave the cagers advanced warning of what I was about to do, so they had time to figure out how to f**k me up. Now I just TURN (or change lanes) - and don't give the bastards any time to do something bad to me.
Seriously? This has reduced the near misses and stupidity from 'frequent' to 'almost never'.
My Yamaha's from 1980 thru 2008 had 'self-cancelling' signals - very simple - just press to cancel if changing lanes. Vision is a little more complex, but still easy to cancel. I use them to signal if I am stopped already - or if I have to stop before I can turn. Or if there is a Cop Car behind me :>}

As mentioned earlier, I think the best way to get used to the new tech is to just start holding the signal switch with your thumb while making turns. With this method it always cancels immediately upon releasing the switch. If you are going to be sitting a moment waiting to make the turn, simply release the button as you are coming to a stop and then flip it again as soon as it springs back. Once you do this for a few miles of in town riding it will become second nature and you will never think about it again. And you'll never again be the goofball that rides 15 miles down the road driving everybody else crazy, we've all done it.

Real easy fix.
Left hand out, left turn. Left hand up, right turn. Left hand down, stop. Both hands up, oh shit... O.o
