I tried making a playlist called "podcasts" but it won't sync to my ipod touch. I guess it assumes that podcasts go into "podcasts" under that ipod. Which is fine, but how can I navigate to it with the vision? Do I have to pull over and manually start a podcast or will it show up as a playlist somewhere in the numbers?

Or is there a way to create a playlist with itunes that has the podcasts and ALSO allows it to sync? Thanks guys.

Danged if I know! If Jobs was here right now and I had a big mallet, he'd get bent over so I could 'return' my worthless P.O.S. ipod, they purposly made the thing tricky and difficult to interface with any PC product. I've got about 400 downloaded songs in various 'playlists' that the ipod won't download, I just put the thing in a drawer, I'd rather listen to the road anyway.

Have you guys read this Tech Reference?

http://www.vision-riders.com/bb/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=2726

And this PDF file?

http://hamelmer.com/Docs/VictoryVision_iPodNotes.pdf

The PDF describes the behavior of the 11 playlists and what cord is used for what year model Vision.

When it comes to Podcasts I do not know what to say since I have never used them. I will try to check it out and see if I can figure out how to add a podcast to a regular music playlist.

I read the PDF file and it answered a lot of questions on how to generally control it. I'll have to do some searching to see how (if at all) I can add podcasts to a playlist AND get it to sync. I can add to a playlist on my computer, but when I try to sync it, it doesn't show up as a playlist I can select for the ipod. Maybe it's an ipod touch thing. I'll try to find out...

Try creating a new playlist in iTunes and dragging a podcast to it. Then move the playlist to your iPod.

Alright! Figured it out!

You can create a playlist that contains podcasts (I titled mine....PODCASTS!!!). Then when you're syncing playlists, you will NOT see it listed as a playlist you can sync. But go over to "podcasts" and check "sync podcasts" at the top. A little further down on the lefthand side you'll see "include episodes from playlists" and you'll see your playlist under there. Check THAT and then it'll sync!!!

Whew! Good to go now!

sfalexi,

I am glad you figured it out! "include episodes from playlists" I will check that out.

Only the first 11 Playlists in alphanumeric order are used on the Vision. They are assigned to the Radio buttons 2 - 12.
