I am still haveing a "Low Volume" problem with my Zumo 660 going through the speakers. I did the Zumo to 2008/2009 modification to hook up power and sound to the Audio System, but the sound coming from the Zumo is so low it is hard to hear over the speakers. Works great with my Bluetooth set.

Anyone find any alternatives to the low volume problem on a 2008/2009 with the connector modification talked about in the forum?

Suppose ZI could add an Amp, but was hoping there was another fix available.

This little amp will fix your issue,

but i have a question. How have you wired the Zumo audio outputs? Are they left and right channels? How did you connect them to the mono connection on the bike?

I used the stock Garmin GPS Cable and made a 3.5 conversion cable with both sound leads funneled into the small green GPS connector located on the right side of the console (Where I get power also). I would have connected it into the Mini Jack in the Glove Box but I have the IPod MP3 connection used there.

Very possible I have a loose pin or connection, but I basically wired the Stereo output wires into the mono plug next to the console.

Maybe a dumb question, but are you sure you are tied in to the amp and not just the speaker wires, using only the Garmin built-in amp? I went with the MixIt2 to combine signals and it works when the trunk is off and you lose the comm system for hard wired headsets. To me, one of the big drawbacks of the Vision audio system is the fact that you lose all use of the wired headset plugs without the trunk and intercom system. I've overcome that somewhat with the MixIt2, but I wish they could have designed this better so you are not forced to keep the trunk or else physically move the intercom to a saddlebag.

I've got my 660 wired to the Vision GPS input plug directly and it'll blow your ears off. I don't know how the '08 is different than the '10 and '11 but no amp needed here. That's for sure

Hi all, I have thought of buying the Garmin Zumo 660 in a store and then the Mount for Zumo 660 GPS (Victory Vision)
Item #: 2878028
vision for 2008 and do not know if this if this mounting system includes connection cables for the vision 2008. me you can settle the issue, if that does not include cables as I can get my hands on them. Greetings and excuse my English

No "Jerkiness" inferred. Yes - I have adjusted the Garmin volume up all the way to try to get more sound on it. I believe it is going to be an under-gauge wire, too long of a run using the Garmin cable or a bad connection in the Interface Plug I made.

I hardly use the Garmin through the speakers anymore since I went to a Bluetooth headset. So I have not torn into the wiring harness to re-wire. Maybe a weekend project to re-wire and troubleshoot, but with Bluetooth, it is not on the front burner.
