Any one having trouble with their Vic 'rolling off' the kickstand? I have a 2010 XR and twice now I have had to catch and of course slowly let the bike down to the ground (as I am caught off guard). Am I missing something or should these stands have a catch when fully engaged?

Any input would be appreciated.

There is no catch or latch. Get in the habit of leaving it in gear and you will be ok. Make sure you have air in the rear shock; the higher the bike sits the more it will lean on the kickstand. More lean means more weight and less chance of tip over.

ricvic, you are about the third I've read about this happening too. My guess is that the stop angle is too perpendictular so there is no real "grab" to the kick. Victorys do not have locks and the Vision seems to more forward angle to the kick. My only recommendation is that you doubley make sure the kick is all the down and that your bike is facing a slight incline upward. Putting it in gear would be good as well. A little dilegence will keep you from letting the bike drop or embarrassing situations.

Good advice on both counts. I always keep mine in gear, and try to pay attention to the kickstand-don't want me, or the wife and I falling down.

I always park in gear and I never park Down hill. My vision is 3 years old and I never had a kickstand problem...

The rubber shoe on the kick-stand is for the occasional incidental taking off without raising it. The rubber shoe catches the concrete with the slightest lean and puts it up where it belongs. Not that I have done this...but it works.

As for the kickstand rolling thing...I also always leave it in gear but long ago got in the habit of always leaving my left foot fully extended on the kick-stand as I lean 'er over on the kick-stand. Seems like a good habit, at least I haven't had an issues with my Vision ever rolling off the kickstand.

Dont laugh ... it was actuallydesigned not to scratch the floors at the dealership when they moved the bikes around. LOL

We offer a lowered kickstand if you want to solve the lean problem.
Thanks for looking....

The rubber pad on the kickstand is actually a safety feature. The design is to kick the kickstand up in case you forget it in the down position. In the manual it even states to replace it after it wears down to the wear mark the same as the wear mark on a tire.

Hey Crawford - hope all is well in the North Country. The rubber pad that polaris sells is junk to me. I tried a leather pad and that too didn't want to stay on. So I've been living "dangerously" for over a year now with no mishaps, the kick will glide to the rear everytime without the little bit of help this thing is "suppose" to provide. It's one less thank that I have to worry about, and I'm not concerned in wearing out my kickstand since it is in the up position most of the time anyways. Hope you have a great season and would love to hear of any great adventures.
