Well, we (my buddy Rick and I) finally have her back together! She is glad that she actually has a REAL name now - Black Cherry. I'll post some pics as soon as I can get her out in the sun light.
We dis-assembled her Tuesday and sent the parts off to our friendly powder-coater Jaimie. We got the last of the BLACK pieces back today and re-assembled.

A list of what I decided to change and to what sort of coating:

Access panel (under the windshield),the 2-piece front "grill",and upper and lower wind deflectors, front pulley cover - done in Black Metalflake
The 2 panels in front of and the 2 panels behind the motor - wrinkle finish powdercoating (to match the front and rear tip-overs and handlebars)
All the heat shields of the exhaust - flat Black ceramic coating
The "M" panel at the very rear of the bike [below the tail-light "V"] - rattle-can Black metallic paint (which matches the Black Metalflke surprisingly well)

I really can't say exactly how much it cost to do all this because it was done by the friend of a friend who runs a powder coating facility and puts through "odd pieces" from time to time for special folks (like ME).

Thank you all for the positive feedback. One thing that you can't see unless in person is the Black Metalflake - it really stands out in the sun. I'm very pleased with the results.
