Well - has any one went to a side mounted ignition switch on the Vision as they are on the other Vicsters? By the way, where is the switch for the Cross bikes?

Back to my decision, my igni switch is toast and I'm making do without it. I'm thinking instead going to the stock switch I think I want to go with the side switch. I've got other plans with the latch locks and the fork lock so I'm not concerned there. Has anyone else done that on a Vision? I open for thoughts.

I think someone has on the VMC. The Cross bikes have the switch on the cheese wedge.

They sell aftermarket proximity switches. You have a small transmitter fob in your pocket and the receiver is on the bike, Would think it would be a fairly easy wiring project to install. A setup like this doubles as a basic security system. And you also have the benefit of keeping the original switch for locking the bike up when needed.

This might be the best option. I saw Kenpen use his in San Antonio and it was slick. He just walked up the Vision flipped the Run-Stop switch to Run and hit the starter.

Keyless....the best option I have seen for a relocation.

Thanks RT, I'm checking this out, though I still want to do the relocate the igniter switch to the side and use the console for another dashbag storage area. I need to go ahead and work on my alternate forklock idea and storage/fuel tank door lock.

any ideas on a fork lock on the Vision if I were to go with a sidemount ignition? The only thing I can think of is doing a plate mount that would lineup and put a padlock through it. I think I'm going with the side mount as soon as I hear back from the dealer.

Biometric - fingerprint recognition! Now thats what a modern machine like the Vision needs, owner recognition and a perhaps a programable voice that says things like " Sorry, Dave, I cant open the pod bay doors".

Voice recognition and activation.

With Majel Barret Roddenberry's voice " Working"

I miss the voice of my 2720 street pilot. She was a strong woman, some thought she sounded like a bitch.

My 660 sounds weak willed and is very quiet on full volume

"Biometric - fingerprint recognition" That was done years ago on a Victory Visteon prototype tour bike. They had it on display at Sturgis in 2001 I think. That bike sure looked like it evolved into the XC. I had pictures long ago.
