I rode one for 15 miles and my shoulders were starting to ache. They are tough hombre's to finish an Iron Butt on one.

Ride Safe

RT if you rode the one at the San Antonio dealer, the bars were too far forward, they needed to come back about 6 inches.

congrats to the highballers - love it.

For those that may not know. Greg Moe rode the world's fastest Kingpin at the salt flats and Mike Dapper is the managing editor of the Victory Rider Magazine. This was Mikes third IBA ride. Very cool!!! .

Thank goodness that they are all not far forward.

Oregon.
Excellent. Read the article and congrats on the ride. Very tough to do with ape hangers and not have cruise control. Good job.

the highball have adjustable bars to keep them legal in all states. Most folks that I know who ride ape hangers, swear by the comfort. Okay, it doesn't look that comfortable, but these are not bar hoppers. They do things like, Run For The Wall from California to the Pentagon.

Also, what does cruise control have with doing an Iron Butt? Not busting chops but at best I use my cruize as a throttle lock to do a brief hand stretch or to give a salute to a veteran on the highway.

Cruise control lets you give your right hand and arm the same chance to flex and warm up as the left hand. Over the course of, say, 16 hours on the bike, those flexing and warm-up opportunities would have been most welcome.

I've done my share of 1,000 mile rides in less than 24 hours
But
A saddle sore 1,000 with Ape hangers?
Oh no, not for me.

Congrats!
