Ever since I started riding in 2004 every year but one I have taken a pure motorcycle vacation. Always before I had only taken family visitation style vacations. Before I hadn't seen really any of the U.S.
I was wondering how riding has changed everyone else vacations? Getting a bike and seeing the U.S. from the seat of a motorcycle has and will continue to be one of the great joys in my life and it only got alot better with a Vision. Every year I always get the itch to go on a road trip beginning in Febuary until I actually get to take one which is usually around the 4th of July. Which is really cool exploring the country during the time we all celebrate what a great country this can be. Hope you all have great rides this summer. I promise you I will be enjoying it.

I uually do a family vacation and then my motorcycle trip. This year I'm doing a 12 day motorcycle trip. It will involve camping in going out west. I can't say the significant other is too happy about that. She understands what it means to me...

I'm doing Bike week in Daytona solo but Donna will ride to Erie in July and we have a two up trip to New Hampshire this year as well.

She enjoys the ride but has fears of being killed when I told her I was riding out to Sturgiss last Aug she said have fun I'm not riding that far.

Somewhere close to 6500 mi. The end of July I'll be riding Ut,Col,Az,NM,SD for a week.I'll be retired here in about 1 1/2 yrs. so I can ride for a living then. The kids are grown youngest in college. The other 1/2 of vacaton time's with wife and family.

Phil and I usually do one bike week. We went to the Lake Placid Area of NY last year and found some gorgeous roads. Not sure where we are heading this year. Either Maine or Pa.

If your thinking of Key West there is a huge poker run in Sept. I rode it a couple times when I lived down that way. If you are thinking about going make your hotel reservations now (it may already be to late.)

Motorcycle vacations are great....since 2002 (on my victorys) on separate rides ..... i have ridden to Vegas, Prescott Arizona, Eureka Springs Arkansas, all over the eastern seaboard, (Maine-Florida) Billings Montana, all of Eastern Canada, all of Ontario, Route 66 twice, throughout Virginia Kentucky and points in between.

Looks like Vegas again this June with Hot Springs Arkansas this Sept.

Victories are the best.....get out and enjoy North America.....we have a wonderful places to ride and great folks to meet

how do you all do your rode trips ??? Do you camp ??? stay in motels do you pack all your stuff on your bike ?? do you have a trailer ??? Me and the wife want to do at three week vacation but think we would need at least 1500. for hotels does that sound about right. I don't have a trailer so i don't think we would be able to pack enough for camping. Would like to hear some ideals on how other experienced riders handle it.

When 2 up we use hotels. We do not have a trailer but I did add the luggage rack to my 2011. I get one saddle bag liner and Donna the other The trunk liner holds all bike gear Rain suits tools etc. Now that we have the rack Donna will be able to bring more stuff.
When I'm solo I tent camp

We usually do a couple 1 weeks or a 2 week every year. Trust me, you don't want to do more a week trying to tent and then only if you are stating put in 1 place. When we came back from the east coast last summer we were getting up and leaving by 4:30 am to beat the heat and in a pool by 3:00 pm. You can't do that camping. You can usually find a place for under 100 a nite depending on where you are. To my wife its worth it....so to me it's worth it.

Ride to Sturgis each year. Every other year I ride out to SLC to see the children. '06 rode to CA in 3 days. When I worked in FL I rode to Key West. (It rains every day in FL and the Love bugs suck) 4 of us rode out to the Grand Canyon last year. Love riding the bike every where just wish they had a way to stop all the bad driver/riders on the road.
