I want to be able to have my bluetooth gps (garmin zumo550) voice commands to come through the Vision speakers. I understand that there is a cable for this but wonder if any other hardware is needed.

The other thought I had was if there was a way to have a bluetooth signal from the gps (or iphone) into the radio. There's been discussion about bluetooth dongles ... is that what I need?

Any other options I should consider?

Jeff, I have the 660 connected to my '10 using the audio integration harness (part # 2877930). I get directions in headset and speakers if desired. I do not believe there is a harness for the 550 or the 08/09 Visions. I have seen that some here have been able to modify their set up to accommodate their GPS. As far as Bluetooth you may want to look at the Sena dongle. As far as I know this will only send to your wireless headset not your speakers but I am not 100% positive on that.

Thanks Breadman.
Ideally what I want to do is have the gps signal come thru the speakers but also override any music that the radio is playing (either from FM or from ipod using the ipod cable). Am I right in assuming that if I had the Victory GPS cable, it would sense and prioritize that signal. Since I also want the option to connect my iphone (which is in my pocket and not connected to ipod cable) I'm thinking that connecting a bluetooth receiver to the GPS input of the radio might work.

Am I missing anything or making incorrect assumptions?

When the GPS is connected through the audio harness the system will prioritize each signal. But I don't think you can connect both a GPS Bluetooth receiver and a GPS cable to the same connection. It sounds like your best bet may be the dongle. But not many have used it yet and reviews are scarce. There seems to be a lot of frustration about it. I read a few posts on the VOG and they have not been good due to the fact that not only do you have to buy the dongle but also a jumper that is sold separately.  Here is the description:

  • Victory riders who install this Bluetooth Dongie can enjoy a wireless Bluetooth connection to their bike's audio system to listen to the radio or music from another source connected to the audio system, and also hear GPS turn-by-turn instructions.
  • Requires Sena Bluetooth Dongle Jumper (pt#2878917; sold separately)

Jeff, There ia another thread that may help.  Arkainzeye posted this product that connects to the FM in a car radio to make a phone bluetooth capable. I wonder if this would also make a GPS unit bluetooth. The link is below. Check it out.
